I was quite tame compared to you lot but some stuff that comes to mind; Age 8, scout camp: We had a butane stove that wouldn't light so we figured the gas cylinder might be empty. I tested it by holding a lit match to the cylinder tap and turned it expecting the flame to get a bit bigger if there was any gas left. Impressively the whole gas cylinder caught alight and started rolling around. It came to rest at the side of our tent which caught alight too. Teenage highlights; Regularly used to climb a tree in order to jump over a large barbed wire fence that seperated us from the posh girls school. We did climbing and abseiling at school which was foolish on the schools part as my friends and I used to do "homework". Freestyle quarry climbing was always quite popular. Various painful bicycle accidents, often as a result of drinking beer and then holding onto a motorbike to pick up speed... Starting fires. Small rural bonfires that used to suddenly set fire to everything around them. We were experts at beating out fires with blankets.

Oh yeah, that one's pure gold too. And this was Greece's entry in 2002: http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=GWDU9ZWMoEw I remember seeing it on tv and having the distinct feeling I had suddenly been catapulted into a parallel dimension.

Hmmm, have I thanked you yet for the countless hours of work you put into this site? I haven't, have I? Dankjewel, Coen. Schitterende site. ("Thank you, Coen. Great site.")

Same here. Great Convention, made more so by the city and all there is to see. I had a great time touring Kahn Buildings at Yale, the Gerhy fiasco at MIT, some Harvard Museums and historic Boston. I also had a non-architectural tour of the ICA Building. I am still not sure what to think of it, great exterior public places and magnificent views from inside (specially the media room) but the galleries were so small and bland?. A personal highlight was visiting the JFK Library and archives, more for the history than the building, athough I liked the Atrium space a lot. And of course, meeting Craig D., Lewis and Susan. Now back to work... Alfredo

Aangenaam, ik heb me net aangemeld.

Ok, it is the Haworth Zody chair we have. We have some with the fabric cushion seat and some with the mesh seat. Virtually everything, even your attitude is adjustable with this chair. [image: 1_97854%20B-Main.jpg]

This is probably a good time to recommend a UPS. For around 100 bucks you can get a UPS that will keep most machines going for 5-15 minutes, perhaps even more. A couple of hundred will get you perhaps half an hour - of course it depends a lot on the exact machine you are using. As a bonus a typical UPS makes a very good filter. I have an APC Back-UPS 1500 for my iMac and phone and a Belkin 550VA unit for my minimac, timecapsule and DSL modem. Worth every cent. Living out in the wilds we frequently get short outages during the winter as snow pulls on wiring. Those of you in cities are more likely to get problems in summer due to A/C use.

@rodentpete said: @remus said: Organic apples all the way All apples are organic - so are all plants, animals and plastics. (I get irritated by the 'organic' buzzword ) You're mixing chemistry and farming terminology. Organic chemistry is anything involving carbon compounds, as noted above. Organic farming is a practical and philosophical methodology of food production that used to include caring for the long term health of the land, local production to reduce the transport time of foodstuffs as well as the no synthetic pesticides and fertilisers approach. Ever since big farming companies got involved the first few bits of the philosophy seem to have been ignored by most of the market. I don't go for the woo part of organic food but I certainly approve of the "care for your land's long term health" bit. And I'm quite certain that locally produced food will usually be better than that transported across huge distances and stored for long periods. Luckily for me I have farm just a mile down the road from which I can get almost all my veg. There really isn't anything better tasting than veg that was cut just half an hour ago. As long as you don't hear the screams of the carrots in your sleep..

More than some icing on the cake, it's fast becoming essential. I agree that the very talented ruby programmers have made SU a lot more powerful with their plugins, however it doesn't change the fact that SU seems to be moving sideways and not forward.

And I have the visa already but my itinerary has also changed; arriving at 23:54 on the 9th and leaving at 06:30 on the 15th. I'll have a shuttle service when arriving and I guess (unless it's full) that someone could join us. We'll definitely not wait for you Coen!
