Thanks all! L i am, I didn't like that stone texture but the HOA/Arch Review had a little episode about the texture I first had not exactly matching the sample. This was as close as I could find. I added a second iteration above with a different stone texture. I could spend countless hours on this. pbacot, yes, that's Skatter and with several compositions. I also used: Profile Builder 3 Fredo ThruPaint Fredo Topo Shaper Vertex Tools FlexTools Windows and Doors Vizpark Trees, Grass, Shrubs and Boulders Vizpark Textures Vizpark Skydomes Cgtrader Vegetation and Trees Poliigon Textures Vali Architects Instant Roof Quixel Bridge Boulders Andreu World Furniture - CAD to SU Transmutr Some more than others. Vertex Tools to adjust the topo. Instant Roof to put in the basic roof. The vegetation are all Thea proxies. This took a long time and also had to revise the roof after the first comments. They finally approved the design last week so it took two passes. Andreu World Furniture has a lot of great upscale furniture available in CAD drawings you can download and convert in Sketchup. Pulldown under products.

@l i am said: Hi Bryan, when I look at any render there is a quality that I sruggle to put a name to so I use the word "airyness" That is where you are getting to. And it nust be nice to get free tutorials fron Raylectron is is paying off Thanks! Yes, airiness. That describes it perfectly, although I would not have though of that word, or what it was exactly I was trying achieve, it fits perfectly. That is what I'm hoping to eventually achieve. Thanks! Yes, Raylectron support has been very helpful. They can be contacted through the Raylectron forum and are very happy to respond and help! https://softbytelabs.com/Forum/viewforum.php?f=9

Thanks tuna! Good suggestions as well, but again, the limits of my laptop were reached on this model. The trees are 2D and even then still created a heavy load due to the number. Proxies don't work on my laptop. Don't know why, but I've spend hours and days trying to figure out why. No longer worth the effort. The simple shoreline is a sandbox model and it also created a heavy load. Same with the helicopter. 500,000 faces in this model and it was bogging down, badly.

@mike amos said: Gpu is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 So you are limited to CPU based denoising. Maybe try to find a refurbished 2070/2070ti? It will not make not a difference to your render times but the nVidia denoiser is very fast and resolves noisy images better than OpenImage TwiLight is not GPU based for rendering so you need a double investment for CPU and GPU to see any real substantial render time gains.

Very kind words from you all. Its mostly primitive shapes. Vertex Tools and SUbD do the heavy lifting. What I found interesting was delving into Blender's EEVEE engine. DAE export from SketchUp and some quick PBR materials and 3secs later you get a render. I would love a standalone EEVEE engine for SketchUp. That would be bananas!

Hi Mike, if you dont mind me saying I think you are going about teaching yourself rendering the wrong way. You are tasking yourself with being an Architect, Landscape designer and renderer. All arch vis guys I know work from archirects plans and elevations or in the case of more arty personal projects "mood boards, or/and reference images (lots of them) At art school visual artists in just about every discipline have walls or desks full of references. Old school oil painters use a reference, being a real landscape and do pencil sketches of rock formations, that might be called a "study" it is not plagerism. If you want to do a pool courtyard firstly identify what type of pool courtyard, minimalist, funky, period, art deco then collect lots of images you like in the genre and study them, perhaps try to do a render and try to copy the whole thing, lighting, Architecture, sky type. Then study water levels associated landscaping and plants, of just mash elements together, tilling paving, water levels pool lighting placement and effects. I have attached some examples of a study I did a while ago, you may note that I did not copy verbatum not that there is any thing wrong with that. And an example of a mood board [image: XEWH_1.jpg] [image: qflY_2.jpg] [image: hp4j_3.jpg] [image: aRo4_Terracesmall.jpg] [image: HFMH_Moodboard.jpg]

Thanks Mike! The size of the parking space is just me. I prefer wider parking slots. 12ft (3.6m) across. Of course the delivery van parks how they want. Don't they everywhere?
