Added pilots and motion blur. Motion blur was done in Sketchup rather than in postprocess. Rendered in Podium postprocessed in Photoshop. [image: 7iAQ_blackHawk10.jpg] [image: mDGD_BlackHawk_edited-5.jpg] [image: 1gzD_BlackHawk_edited-3.jpg]

Good work! I think using the same camera angle that you did for the daytime scene would've made for a better nighttime render. I think the 3D people make the scene lose some realism as well. Go with clipmapped or photoshop in images of real people instead. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for all the replies and the kind words. The design is actually not mine, i did the modeling, rendering and post process. The Doors is not standard hight, it's 250 cm. @tomsdesk said: Really sweet design and model, Jenny. Love the green/orange color scheme, lively and fun place to be, but I think the green is a little bit off the best hue...or maybe it's the tint? (I noticed the tables too?) Thanks tomsdesk, I'm not sure that i understand what do you mean by "best hue"? The colors were chosen by the designer. @marked001 said: actually, it kind of seems like the tables are too tall? looking at the chairs. either way, nice image... i like it. Thanks Jason, You're right, the gap between the table and the seat should be about 10 cm smaller than it is in the image.

Nice work mate, though the tiling of the textures is killing the images in most!

@pbacot said: Yes, thanks for the post. It made me look into this sort of work again. Perhaps you are aware that there is an energy analysis free plug-in for SU (among other related options): http://www.iesve.com/Software/Model-Building/SketchUp-plug-in Yep, you are right, this can be done without Revit. Another option is to import a 3D model into Ecotect directly. I just wanted to show how one can re-use a SketchUp model in Revit for such a thing. @mike lucey said: I imagine in these times of drastic unemployment in the architectural / engineering sectors this could be an employment possibility. Actually seeing were the energy leaks are, adds a new perspective in the awareness department! And seeing this via SketchUp interactive interface Yes, now is a good time to strengthen "green capabilities"... @mike lucey said: I wonder is there much capital involved in setting up equipment / training wise? I am not 100% sure on the cost of the IR (FLIR) camera that I used but I believe it is around $12,000. Not cheap equipment, I know. I believe these cameras can be rented, too, but I don't know where. Cheers, Alex

thank you to Respond to my objective @marked001 said: looks like a good start thank on your fan to me @marked001 said: the first thing that pops out at me is that planter in the foreground of the first image....doesnt look like its sitting on the ground....? I agree with your opinion In the next design I will avoid such a mistake @unknownuser said: I agree. The perspective of the image is slightly from above, so it doesn't work that well, and the fact that it's in the foreground draws attention to the issue. When it comes to things like that, you might just be better off modeling it. Thank you for good advice @marked001 said: … Also, the balcony lights being that bright in the middle of the day is a bit odd. I want to show the location of lighting In the next design I will avoid such a mistake

The lawn looks awesome. Is it displaced? You can try adding a tree somewhere out of the frame that will cast some shadows into the shot, and give a reason for the leaves to be on the lawn. You could also try adding some detail to the window frames and slightly rounding some of the edges. Also the wood doesn't have an exterior feel to me. Perhaps something a little more weathered would help. I also think the camera could be repositioned a little to gain more of focal point and tell a better story.

The cars need something to them. I would try adding some reflections, because they stand out to differently. And I know you are probably only working with a single palm image that you have for photoshop but I would search around and find a good palm model to maybe add in the scene...I know there has been some posted on here and in the warehouse. With that said, the building and everything else really looks great. I really like the background image and how it works with the building.
