Here is the main frame, with both the Bedroom and Kitchen wings complete. Now that we have finished the valley setup in the shop, we can integrate it into the main frame, which, in my opinion, is the crux move of the entire build. Hello TLD, there's a walkthrough of how I model in Catchup 3. The only thing I can recommend is to work on your textures (PS ect} before applying them to your model. John

These images were used in the presenation, but the actual presentation was compiled with a common graphic layout, and with some plan drawings and concept sketches and some additional views (like having the model on a 2d section drawing to show how it interacts with the existing building), and the last drawing wasnt used-I was just playing with some stylization in photoshop on that one.

Hello and welcome mondez. Looks nice but it's difficult to distinguish between what's modeled and what is PS. John

This is my latest hobby project, a spaceship. Just to test my modelling ability. Still much to improve [image: Glnq_1.jpg] [image: EYxg_2.jpg] [image: gHZB_3.jpg] [image: 9tpG_s1.jpg] [image: sF6M_s2.jpg]

Thanks Speaker, on one of my earlier trials I did use FFD, not quite how you are-I was using it to deform a tapered spiral after it was made (like squishing just the bottom 3rd, etc.).

haha yep, big site, big model-it has about 2.5 million faces. the most challenging part was I only had a few rough pics to go off of, and the grading/structure elevations get a bit tricky as it sits in the hill. the villa is set on a forested hill, and I did do one version with 3d trees (placed with component spray) just for fun, but it hid a lot of the model and for the most part sketchup vegetation has never been too great. The version with trees has over 9 million faces... [image: dIUb_aldo_forest.jpg]

Glad to hear it! Yeah, it's a very different workflow and took me some time to understand and use before I got comfortable with it, but it really does make a difference.

last week i had a similar task... in a quick sketch for a shop i had to visualise a upholstered piece of furniture, of course with curves. i decided to use a picture as the texture, since it was only shown half in the picture and it was just one small detail. worked out well in the picture. unfortunately i cannot show the full picture due NDA, but i guess it is safe to show the furniture. [image: Jw5A_gesteppt.jpg] do not look to close at the far upper left corner, there is something going on with the texture

I can't see the update. But the first image looks to me like much more than a rough sketch.

...or maybe not. I used MS Movie Maker Live to post (final edit) and now the program won't open the file or let me edit.
