The new version of the model. I added the underwater part of the ship. I fixed rails, and improved some of the other elements of the model. Some simple renders, made for presentation purposes [image: hmsajaxnew1_zpsdaca5c84.jpg] [image: hmsajaxnew4_zpsb7c70b3f.jpg] [image: hmsajaxnew7_zps5699275b.jpg] [image: hmsajaxnew8_zps46dd515a.jpg] [image: hmsajaxnew6_zps73ab64fb.jpg] [image: hmsajaxnew5_zpsbed434a0.jpg] [image: hmsajaxnew9_zps1155b95c.jpg] [image: hmsajaxnew3_zps4120db2b.jpg] [image: hmsajaxnew2_zpsf62db13f.jpg] [image: hmsajaxnew0_zps79762cdc.jpg] The model can be downloaded here: https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model.html?id=ucd0f5ce2-72d8-4bd6-b92b-76a55045bf92 I greet all the members of the forum

@tk0001 said: What a great tool. I love the ability to focus in on an item and blur out the rest. I pulled up an old model of a small sortation facility and played around. I loved the results. [image: Misc_1_zps72053f82.png] Hi, Mark. Very nice. What is it? Some part of automatic assembling line?

Thanks to all. @kaas: You are certainly right, I've only applied a projected texture (with an awkward direction) ...

@garystan said: Dave R. : In other words, I should've used softer, more-angled light. Correct ? garystan In other words, you should have used light more consistent with low sunlight. The shadows should be a little softer, that brick wall and windows should be reflecting some light back into the scene. The light should be lower as I said before. It should probably be a bit warmer considering how low the sun is in the background image. It's pretty simple to figure out where the light source in your render. You should be able to draw lines from corners on the shadows through the corners on the furniture casting the shadows and to the sun. The rays from the sun are, for practical purposes, parallel so the edges of the shadows of the furniture should be parallel not splaying out as the distance from the furniture increases. All very basic lighting stuff.

@hellnbak said: Really nice work! Those are colors I might have chosen for my own home. Needs a big ashtray on the coffee table though Yeah, I know - not "PC", but what is nowdays Thanks! That colour palette is so awesome and would appeal to both males and females alike. Win-win! Come on now, an ashtray would never be factored into the styling of an interior (although, worst case scenario, the tea-light holders could be used if one was 'caught out')!!
