        Haven't seen the movie but from previews on tv it looks like you nailed it ๐Ÿ‘

          looks great! 2nd image looks like Blender subdivisions. What was your workflow? Did you do the initial model in SU or Blender?

            @andy

            I'm using Thomthom's unreleased SubD extension for the proxy modeling.

            I then export that proxy to Blender using Quadface Tools > Export > OBJ.

            I add to the proxy there as the tools in SU are not quite there yet. Thing like loop cuts and insets are just too labour intensive in SU.

            I remain in Blender for the subd and rendering.

            The new Freestyles in Blender Cycles means getting the wires out is really easy.

            Great thing is you can bake materials to the proxy and bring it back to SU. It is a real nice workflow once you dial it down.

              ๐Ÿ˜ฎ can't wait for TT's sub-d tool! ๐Ÿ˜

              Hope he gets loop cut and slide in there in some way, that would be huge!

              Man, I wish cycles was out a couple years back when I was first learning Blender and trying to render with Yafaray and Luxrender. ๐Ÿ˜ž

                Cycles does continue to improve with each release.

                I just hope that the standalone version of cycles gets some traction as that would be a real bonus for SU users.

                But what has me most excited is the open Subd coming in Blender. That looks amazing.

                I use it in Modo and it saves you a heap of time.

                As for Thomthoms Subd. All I can say is......non nom nom.

                He has lots of ideas of what I think should be added. It is just cornering him to free up some time. He's a busy dude.
