@Maria When you download an extension from the PluginStore, using your browser, there are several possible outcomes, depending on how you have configured your browser's options... The RBZ file that is downloaded when you click the button can be handled by the browser in several ways. For example if RBZ files are incorrectly set up to open with SketchUp, or any other app - like a decompression software, the the download will fail. Of if the browser is correctly set up to save the RBZ file onto your computer, then there are two possible alternatives. It might auto-save it to your Downloads folder, or it might prompt you in a dialog to choose a folder in which to save it... In both of these cases you should now have an RBZ archive on your computer. You now need to install it into SketchUp. In SketchUp use the menu item to open the built-in Extension Manager dialog, then use the [red] button to Install... Find the RBZ file and SketchUp should now install it for you automatically - extracting the files from the archive and copying them into the correct location[s] in your Plugins folder... If you have problems like this, it can be down to incorrect permissions, and these usually result from SketchUp being incorrectly installed... It's possible to Repair the installation [without first uninstalling and starting again]... To do this - login to Windows as your normal user-account. Ensure SketchUp is not running. Find the SketchUp installer's exe file - usually in your Downloads folder. Select this exe file's icon, right-click > context-menu > "Run as administrator" When prompted choose "Repair". When it completes restart SketchUp. This operation should reset SketchUp and your user-account to have the correct permissions. Installing any complex app in any other way will lead to weird and unpredictable problems. So never double-click on an installer's exe file to 'Run' it - even if your user-account has admin powers it is not the same as using 'Run as administrator' as exampled above...

You'd probably get a better response by posting within that tool's thread... However, here's my thoughts... An OBJ contains the imported geometry definitions. Often the OBJ file has an associated MTL file [its path/name are set up in OBJ header], this file contains the definitions for the materials that the geometry in the OBJ file will use. Usually the MTL file has the same name as the OBJ file and is kept with it... Also the associated MTL file can contain references to image-files which are to be used in some of its materials as textures [the simplest material-type is just a 'color'], these image-files [JPG, PNG etc] are usually included with the MTL in a subfolder named something like 'Images' - the actual path/name to these images is also included in the MTL file... The OBJ and MTL files are written in plain-text, so you can open them with a text-editor like Notepad++ and read what is being set up...

To preserve the organization of scenes, close and reopen the scenes window before saving and closing SketchUp. This also works if you're having problems with toolbars and trays not holding position.

L i am, thank you for the suggestions and help. However, I figured out my problem. Or should I say remembered. It's been so long since I last used Raylectron that I forgot something important about lighting... ...emitters cannot be grouped with anything. Yep, that's all it was. I am somewhat embarrassed. Thanks again for responding and your help. I will be posting the updated renders of the living room and bedroom in the Gallery.

All SU major point releases (ie. SU2016 / SU2017 / SU2018 / SU2019 / SU2020) run independent from each other and can be installed on the same machine without the one influencing the other. I doubt that any versions of SU, apart from the current release, is available for purchase. You could communicate with SU though, but the cost won't be less than the current version if they were to meet you halfway. Don't go subscription, perpetual licence only - IMHO anyway.

@tig said: If you have just two Plugins loaded in the Manager when SketchUp restarts there will still be just those two Plugins loaded. The Plugins Manager lets you load/disable any Plugins you choose. Because of limitations in the way SketchUp loads Plugins you can't dynamically disable them - they will stay loaded during that session. However, if you disable a Plugin and restart SketchUp, then that disabled Plugin will not load at startup. But of course you can choose to use the Manager to load selected Plugins during a session. The orange button does a 'temporary load' - that is it loads just for that session, and when SketchUp restarts it is disabled once again... You can select multiple Plugins in one go, for loading/disabling/temporarily-loading by clicking on them in the appropriate column in the dialog - holding the +Ctrl key to pick them one-by-one, or holding +Shift key and clicking on the first and the last the selected ones, this is just like any other Windows app... Then you click the appropriate button [RGO] they'll move column and be re-colored to indicate what's just been changed... If you pick some items wrongly you can simply re-click them to remove them from the selected ones before clicking the button. If you've already moved them into another column you can move them back by highlighting them in that column and moving them across in the correct column... Please get to understand how the load/disable/temporarily-load [GRO] buttons work on selected entries in the loaded and disabled columns... Sets are an additional way of remembering your preferred collections of Plugins - for use during your different work-stages etc. Look at using those once you are comfortable with the manual operation... As explained, enabling manually or by 'set' is immediate, but disabling manually or by 'set' will require a SketchUp restart to complete the process. Splendid. I do thank you. Now its clear for me how to deal with the set features.

Actually this is the same question as in the first post. My wish is to have full control on curve points used for distribution of components (not only pipes). Picture is made with lines + pipe plugin (Green elements has to be profiles). This way is not suitable for big number of profiles and more complex curves. In your gif (with stringer plugin) we can not have full control on endings configuration (what I call "end-points curve"). [image: gIw9_Pdrking-.jpg]

Thanks everyone for the replies. I realize the way SketchUp recognizes solids means that adding these walls precludes the volume from being recognized in the SketchUp world as solid volumes, but had hoped there was some workaround here. What I have done is as suggested, modeled 2 separate solid volumes. I'll be talking to the guy doing the energy calculations today. He uses several different programs, as well so maybe there is an answer from his side. I'm also thinking that just because SketchUp see's things this way, doesn't necessarily mean his software will, if I use a single skin separating partition wall with openings indicated. Thanks again, and I'll let you know how this works out.

It sounds to me like pilot error. In order for the extension to be active you need to have a selected section plane. You can also run it from the Context menu when you right click on a section plane. If you go back to the extension's page in the EW, there's a video you can watch that clearly shows how to use it.

If they fall, the glass with the holes is probably incorrect? You can use Fredos convexify (part of FredoTools) to subdivide it to convex shapes ...

Can you post the path to the RBZ download for Floor Generator at SketchUcation.com It's no longer available in the PluginStore, because the author has withdrawn it from publication following a spurious undisclosed 3rd-party copyright claim... Perhaps you have an old version saved on your PC ? Anyway it should not do what you've reported. Have you tried clearing the Internet Explorer cache ? It might be corrupted and messing with Webdialogs ?? Clearly the Fredo's dialogs shouldn't behave like this either ! Also try disabling the renderers and see if that is implicated...

Hi yorik1984! First of all, thank you very much for the plugin! It helps a lot! The only time I have encountered a problem was with a test of a "worst case scenario" of mine (I'm developing a spreadsheet to use the data from sketchup). I tried with two times of "component groups", making them as a new component and the other time using Component Groups. Your plugin worker just as expected when I make new components, but it failed when I use groups Make Unique Plus Test (Using Groups)

My suggestion is based on your background- you have tons of discreet importers\exporters for numerous programs (we bought some btw). Creating universal and flawlessone-click translator undoubtedly has a great potential too.

Re downloading and installing, it's no good, I still have the last release and it does not install in Sketchup versions after 2015 out of the box. The method above works well though. C/users/programdata/sketchup/sketchup version/plugins. The folder and rb are there.

[image: IlKt_POOLPARTYFUN.jpg]Good grief One hour for final render is not fast and how many tries does one need to do to get it right??? I use Artlantis 4(obsolete version too)for not quite photo real work but gets it done in 10-20 minutes max. Not direct in SU but manages hi poly files quickly and in real time. More than OK for decent presentation and project approvals. Artlantis was worth the time to learn for quick renders. After all the built project is really the goal. Never a subscription app for me in any case.
