@unknownuser said: anyway, another way to create an alias, and this method works with the plugin folder, is to hold cmmd&opt then drag/drop the folder to the desktop. Hey, that worked! But I wonder why the Alias menu didn't... @unknownuser said: as to the terminal, you'd probably be good with that stuff whereas i just look for the scripts or miniapps that execute the commands in a gui environment.. sort of how i am with SU and ruby. I do actually prefer GUI over command prompts. Command prompts just reminds me too much of the days of DOS.

I accidentially found out what was going on. The Dashboard was mapped to activate on the middle mouse button.

I see your point Rocky. Leaving the GUI aside, I will try and contact them and see if I can get my hands on a NFR copy so we can see what the end results look like in SU.

When I bought it the seller had "reset" it to a state so when I started it I was prompted to create a new user. Is there anything else I need to think of when I sell it? Do I need to transfer any names etc? Serial numbers?

You might also look at the m6500 -- that'll get you to 3K in a hurry. I have m6400 and it's quite a machine.

Open Clip is currently only for Mac, but if it is available for Windows, we could easily support this. Transferring files with other programs is still pretty easy on Windows, and we have a lot of users that will just WBlock their desired part in AutoCAD, and then import that DWG file into bonzai3d. Also, in bonzai3d there is an option to Export only the Selected entities, so if you only want to transfer part of a file, just pick that and export using this option...

@tfdesign said: I wouldn't use Time Machine to make whole backups. I've heard that TM can sometimes wipe everything. And if you are to use W7, make sure that your computer supports it; @unknownuser said: You can use a 64-bit version of Windows Vista or Windows 7 with any of these Mac computers: A Mac Pro or MacBook Pro introduced in early 2008 or later An iMac or MacBook introduced in late 2009 or later If you’re not sure when your Mac computer was introduced, see http://www.apple.com/support/hardware, click your Mac model, and look for an article on identifying your Mac. Oh, I know my Mac can handle it - it's coming up on the one year anniversary. Word to the wise. If you are contemplating buying a Mac - WAIT until WWDC. I could have saved $300 or upgraded to the next processor for the same price since they lowered the prices day 17 after my purchase (Apple store honors 15 day returns) Rick

Just read the 'Sunday Times' Review of the iPad. Fairly postive except for the book reading not being quite as good as it should. More time I take to justify it, the harder it gets to justify it. Will wait for the HP Slate to show it's cards just because the fact that being first to the market doesn't necessarily mean it's thinking outside the box. But exciting times overall for portable computing.

Hi Scott, I'm using it on the Mac and find it very good at keeping my desktop organized. I am not sure about it being a memory hog but will check it out. From what I can see its not though as things are running smoothly .... but again its a Mac Mike

Tom you are correct. CS4 can be GPU hungry and having a decent card for large imagery can make the difference. Scott

with all the recovery programs there outside, i got some sketchup fies recovery by using Photorec. The best thing about it? Its free... the bad thing? Its slow.....real real slow. I just dont get it that files recovered nowadays have enumerated file names instead of the old ones before that the files recovered are close to the names originally named like pcshell before in dos format. Anyway i hope i helped someone out there also in their bumpy journey of recovering files.... ciao. tesmeko

I'm not sure what to do with it yet, remus. It almost seems like that instead of putting gmail into Wave as I understood was the idea, Google put a little Wave into gmail, which I like better. I would still like a single channel for posting news - right now, that is my blog. But I am conveniently ignoring all the other social sites and probably could reach a larger audience.
