RE: Chainklink Fence Help
I took that png, created a void mask, made the mask 1 pixel wider, then erased the chainlink thinner...and it looks better, to me, in SU and rendered.

RE: Help please...I need to spend some money fast!
Thanks for the tips, Guys (and the laughs :`)
Jan, went with the Cintiq12WX bundled with Painter12: a reasonable business deductable, I think...and after watching all the videos I could find, I think I'm gonna be thanking you more later.
My best to all, Tom.

I can see you on a Bell & Ross Nascafe racer....
Really...REALLY!

RE: Help please...I need to spend some money fast!
Cool ideas so far, Guys...thanks! (Yeah, tried that first Mike, but the trouble with upgrades is that I prefer the older versions of most of the software I use: go figure :`)
Think this would work well as a monitor with SU and rendering apps?

Help please...I need to spend some money fast!
Hey all,
I just discovered I made more than I spent this year, so I need to spend some of it this month or it will go to taxes and rent (I now live in a senior HUD housing project so 1/3 of my income goes to rent). Trouble is I don't really need anything...so maybe you guys can help me get interested in a new toy to learn a new skill, or anything else a reasonably honest self-employed home-office entrepreneur could write off as a business expense (two grand or less, thanks...I didn't work that hard :`)
Best, Tom.

RE: Could'ya/would'ya use trees like these?
Wow! Thanks guys...I had all but given up on the project ('cause I couldn't really think where I'd use them either :`) You can already change the color of the leaves (the bark too) in the SU material editor and I will play around with a transparent bark texture.
Best, Tom. -
Could'ya/would'ya use trees like these?
Woke up this morning with this crazy idea and decided to trash out a quick concept model. (The render just proved the leaf edge line would actually cast a shadow :`)
Anyway, if you could/would use them:
Which do you prefer?
Where/how would you use them?
What would make them better?
Would a transparent line-drawing bark texture be useful?

Yes...please and thank you!

RE: Tomsdesk trees rendered in Maxwell...?
Andre, thank you so much! Do the shadows from the pngs project on the ground okay?

Actually, what exactly is what you are asking? Maxwell renders any model and it doesn't cough if you have many polygons. :? Or you are worried about materials? Maxwell "knows" sss for dingle faced geometry, so you can benefit of that for leafs.
dereeei: could/would you test these for me please and post?

Tomsdesk trees rendered in Maxwell...?
Have you done it?
How'd you do it?
Post an example, please?
