      Susan...cont:

took the curves of one side of your slide
found the center of each segment so I had the radius and the included angle of each
redrew the plan using radii to the nearest foot and angles to the nearest multiple of 15deg (using circles with 24 sides each...so each segment was again 15deg)
copied the new curve and offset 24" and 48"

Now I have a plan that will work with the previous "tut". You may want to change the angle to 7.5deg for smoother slide...? What ever you decide on the number of segments (including any "straight" sections at top and bottom), divide the total drop by the number of segments to get the autofold offset. (If you think some sections slope more or less...adjust the offset accordingly.)

      Hope this helps to clarify.

      Susan,
No time today for a proper tut but here's what so far:

made a face of the section
      followme
      erase face junk
grabbed red stuff to autofold (I start with everything and remove as I go)...my slide's vertical displacement per section was about 2"
      pull down the next bunch
pull down the last, then grab the center section
      copy and group
copy rotate along the original plan curve
finally just moved each to connect up...tada

You'll have to do same for each diameter of slide (but I'm betting they're really all the same mold even if their drawings don't show so...?)

After mine was built I scaled the whole thing along blue axis a bit to line it up with the stair tower ('cause I didn't type in enough decimals for the vertical displacement)

Hope this is some help, will check tonite.

Susan, Bruce: I may not be tracking your conversation so if this just repeats forgive me, doing the pushpull on both it seems to me to work pretty good...just that the res of the curves are getting in the way. Personally I wouldn't take it any further and just fake it from here.

Alan F. posted a little tut when I made one a few months ago (I'll look for it) which will do the trick I think.

EDIT: guess it wasn't a tut...still spot on! The thread link:

Triple-click will select all "connected"...hidden or layer off too. Group the terrain to "disconnect", then put it on the layer off.

      Jeez, I'm pleased...
      good start to now!
      But Louise, it's no breeze...
      must list the dou:

1> Study the page setup in pieces, not just as a whole:
Edge only as a line drawing for eye whimsy and gridlock
Shadow only as a B&W wash drawing for composition gut (and giggle :`)
Color only as a color wash drawing for spirit splash and puddle
Materials only as a PR drawing for brain candy and backwash

i.e. find the crap splatter before you (Tom) find those square centimeters that seductively flirt and you (Tom!) will love to look at mostly

      On my knees...
      continue how?

Since even my old eyes notice the difference between the 800max pixels there and the 700max pixels here, and since I'm asking for some considered help, thought I'd post links to the full size images (all are a bit over 1meg):

    • That lil' big project again...

...moving along at a slow pace. The peeps are working out OK, no real drain so far at 20-some placed (figure there'll be 100 or so in the end, so we'll see :`) I'm starting to get consistant results with the DWC tech and it pleases me as well (also the less-wet "enhanced" SU output), so now I want to get started learning how to turn these presentation sketches into finished renderings in case I'm given the opportunity to do so.

Suggestions (technical and artistic) oh please and thank you...?

    • Lifeguard chair...

I just love being a part of this community! In no time I found just the chair I needed, thanks so much Markus..."Marleus", (I certainly hope the ol'forum resource doesn't dissappear) to make this quickly and pretty close to correctly.

(This one is out of production...probably a code thing, but is close to newer SR Smith chairs so could be adjusted pretty quick :`)

      Once again: "Yeh SketchUppers!"
Best and enjoy if you need, Tom.
