Youll need to pack the scene and share it with any other designer on a Mac. To do this you can go to Extensions> V-Ray> Pack scene. V-Ray will collect all necessary assets and then place them in a local folder. This is the best way to share the file with another user.

RE: Light breaks away
Have you tried any other light types? It looks like you are using Omni lights, which may not be right for an LED tail light. Maybe try Sphere lights or Rec lights. Since an LED is typically a very small rectangular light, it might be necessary to model it as such.

RE: Please Help
That's because you're using an outdated beta of V-Ray for Sketchup that shouldn't even work anymore. I recommend you upgrade to the V-Ray 2.0 Demo or purchase a full license through one of our many reputable re-sellers: http://www.chaosgroup.com/en/2/purchase.html?pID=10.

RE: Grainy light
It may also be the glossy material on the cabinets. Can you share your scene? Id like to take a look at it if I can.

RE: Grainy light
The subdivisions are a square, so essentially if you have 8 subdivisions you're multiplying 8x8 and throwing 64 samples. By putting in 500 or 1200 subdivisions in your value your just throwing samples on top of each other. Id suggest putting it in as 32 subdivisions and see what your results are.

RE: Distributed rendering issues
You're going to need to be more specific with your issue to receive help.
Here is a guide in installation: http://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/VRAY2SKETCHUP/Distributed+Rendering+Installation+Guide

RE: Need help with grainy render
Your settings are all over the place. Also, you're using an outdated beta of V-Ray for Sketchup that shouldn't even work anymore. I recommend you upgrade to V-Ray 2.0 and use the presets we provide.

RE: Proxy doesn't show on render
Be sure you are running the current build, SP3. You can download it at http://www.chaosgroup.com.

RE: White screen on the Vray rendering
V-Ray 1.6 is an early beta version that is no longer supported. Purchase an upgrade to V-Ray 2.0 for support.

RE: HELP! lighting issue in vray 1.49
Was it modeled and created in 1.49 or 2.0. It is not a supported work flow going between the two products.

RE: Transparency glitch in vray material render!!
Never make model changes in a newer version and then down save. That's a bad workflow and not supported. Download V-Ray for Sketchup 2015 and you wont have this problem. http://www.chaosgroup.com.

Shoot an email to support@chaosgroup.com and ask this same question.

RE: Vray Texture is stretching out
Odds are, you have a bump or displacement on the material with out having a Diffuse texture in the material slot. Add a diffuse texture to the material and render it again to see if that fixes the problem.

RE: Ocean water rendering artifacts on single surface
The video is using V-Ray 1.49. 2.0 works a little differently and needs the Diffuse map to pull UVW information from the geometry.

...ASGVIS who is based in the US, contacted Chaos Group and asked if Chaos Group would support/bless the creation of VRAY for Sketchup and Rhino. Chaos Group was on board with the idea. After the success of Vray for Sketchup - ASGVIS was absorbed into Chaos Group. To my understanding they still operate as an independent company. If you receive tech support for Vray for Sketchup or Rhino it is coming from the ASGVIS office.
Just to clarify. Chaos Group USA is based in Los Angeles CA and Baltimore MD, and are part of the Chaos Group LLC. Chaos Group USA is not associated with ASG or ASGVis.

RE: Ocean water rendering artifacts on single surface
This is because there is either a bump or a displacement on the surface. Try adding a map to the diffuse slot and disabling the mapping. V-Ray needs the diffuse mapping to generate UVW information that Sketchup doesn't provide at render time.

RE: Imported jpeg turns out white when rendering
@larv said:
I tried importing the map as a .PSD and the result turned out somewhat better (with the image being much larger too in size). It wasn´t great, though, and not up to the task of being used as an infromative map. I´ll leave this for now. Thanks!

In Vray material editor, find your texture and on the right you get the parameters to edit. In Diffuse, click M.
I did that, but there was no difference. Thanks anyway!
Dont import the map as a .PSD. Open the .JPEG in Photoshop, darken the white area it to a grey tone and save a new .JPEG. Import that new .JPEG and place it in the scene.

RE: Time span to render animation?
In a lot of cases I see users mix the two methods, Animating with a simple Sketchup animation and then pausing for a detailed rendered view of the building to fade in and out at the same view, then the animation would move on from there. I've seen that done numerous times when the turnaround for a project is too tight for a fully rendered animation.

RE: Make toon not affect other objects?
What version of V-Ray for Sketchup are you using? Window->Preferences->Extensions and then click on V-Ray for SketchUp. You should see the version number listed in the details at the bottom of the window.
