Thanks for the comments. I replied to this this morning but looks like I hit Preview button instead old age comes to us all. "different approach" maybe wrongly worded. I was unhappy with the finished render as it was overly green, so lowered the saturation and applied a colour wash overlay and changed the blending mode. My first attempt at digital watercolour John

I think this is one of your best texturing jobs, John - the street, sidewalk, the brick fence, house walls, gates, roof...all excellent. They really pop in the larger version of the image, where the details are more noticeable. Are the house walls one texture, or a combination different brick and stone textures? I think the one item that could be improved is the large timbers could use some more bump - the large cracks look flat/have no depth. Foliage integrated perfectly, as usual. Beautiful image. I know it's been mentioned before, but you really should update your status from beginner.

Gorgeous image John,your use of texture is really unique and also so much in keeping with your models.I think your images are some of the best I have seen here,and they also carry a "signature" which is very much your own.

It's amazing what one person can see in an image but the next person never sees. I have never noticed that crack in the texture until I opened it and it's as clear as day! She's a small town in herself. aadb, I can see what you mean now it's pointed out, the garden wall is making it look worse because they are at different angles. John
