Actually Tom,
What the fox hat on your head?
Susan,
I know what Layout is supposed to be for, but after an initial play with it and after an avalanche of negative feedback I have put it away for after.Smile
And as I understand it, Edson was talking about general images, including screen grabs rather than SU files.
I think a basic image editing app. would be a lot simpler and faster?
Stu
Tom,
Yes I noted the latest PhotoImpact version and I guess I will just have to outlay another $50 for an upgrade
Let me know how useful Painter 3 is though.. [before I lash out

Joe and Kriss,
That sure is a weird pic. I can only guess that it is somewhere in northern Oz....maybe the Kimberlies, where there are a lot of rock formations.
Its a bit hard to work out a scale with that image...but the animal is probably a wallaby....which could be a 1/4 of the size of a kangaroo....but still looks like a fair meal

No Corner Bar is complete without the humour and commonsense of one Joe Wood!
Joe, I see you finally signed up.....its time you dropped in to say Hi

Ross,
Well done! That sounds like a tremendous turn-around. You will have to feel so much better.
Funny about coffee....I used to drink about 6 VERY strong black coffees a day. I decided to stop and expected all sorts of withdrawal symptoms.....but apart from some mild cravings for a couple of days nothing much happened. I now maybe have one cup of coffee in the afternoons but mainly drink green tea or a tea made from dried Goji berries http://hanlin.hit.bg/wolfberry.htm
Stu
And for anybody interested there is ProgeCad Smart.....A FREE version, but not for commercial use. It seems to have most of the features that the Pro version has.

Peter,
Yep, Iv'e done just that but I would love to come across a source of really good, detailed designs. I'm guessing they are out there somewhere....Chinese? Islamic?...there is a rich tradition of this kind of art running from Istanbul to Beijing
I actually made what I needed [maybe need a couple more joins]...see pic, but I would still be interested if anybody has any ideas re. those templates.
Anybody know of a source of DWG/DFX stencils or templates that could be used for laser cutting metal sheeting to produce something similar to the attached [which, if I'm not mistaken, is a toilet window

Probably right John
What I find hard to fathom is why, when firstly they were going to 'migrate' in 3 days, it is now taking the best part of a month?
Google are saying its taking so long because they want to get everything right
Yeah
.....makes you wonder what they had in mind for their original move....

Ken, Thanks for that info. I do think though that I would like to stick with an Acad clone.
Thanks Jackson. I have just downloaded the 30 day trial of Progecad and it certainly looks and feels like Acad and I think I could start working with it almost immediatly, in fact it looks a lot sweeter than my ancient ACLT2000 [which seems to have gone legs up on my Vista powered laptop].
The main negatives Im hearing is that Progecad slows down with large files [not a problem for me] and that there are text problems when importing files from Acad but which there is a work around for.
Stu
Is anybody using Intellicad on a regular basis as an alternative to Autodesk stuff?
It all sounds good and a couple of the best versions seem to be from Progecad and Cadopia.
So, if anybody has first hand experience with any of the versions some comments would be much appreciated.
Stu
Thanks Ron,
That Caponata recipe looks like something I have to try
Have you tried using it on anything other than fish?
Stu
[quote="John Sayers"]I'm hoping Gia is going to post the all time Hungarian Goulash recipe with sweet paprika
Yep!
And everyone else!
Edson, Have a go mate

Is it going to be left to the Ozies to carry this

And remember, talking about food is the next best thing to eating it
...and both beat politics, religion, and all the usual argy-bargy..hands down
John,
A blast from the past!
Was [is] one of my all-time favourites.
I must try it again!
Thanks
Susan,
At the drop of a hat!
As soon the business class tickets for my Assistant Chef and myself arrive...along with confirmation of bookings in a suitable 4 star hotel, we will be over in less time than it takes to make a good souffle!
Stu's Frittata
2 cloves of Garlic, crushed.
1 small Onion, chopped.
1 Capsicum [Bell Pepper], cut into small pieces.
1 Zucchini, cut into small pieces.
1 good handful of Mushrooms, cut into small pieces.
2 rashers of Bacon, cut into small pieces.
Fry the Garlic, Onion, Bacon and Capsicum with a dab of Butter and a splash of Olive Oil until Onion starts to brown and the Bacon starts to crisp.
Add the remaining ingredients along with 1/2 teaspoon of ground Oregano, and good grinds of Salt and Black Pepper.
Cook until Vegetables start to soften only.
Break 5-6 Eggs in a bowl and wisk. Add the above ingredients, mix, and pour into a shallow, greased, baking dish so the mixture is approx. 35mm deep.
Top with Bread Crumbs and grated Parmesan Cheese.
Bake in a medium oven until frittata is cooked through and the top is golden brown.
Serve with a fresh Salad, some hot Crusty Bread and a cool White Wine.
Bon Appetite
