Hi Joe,
Looks good!!
Fiji eh?......going international?!
Stu
Nice one Edson!
And as others have said, native SU is hard to beat for displaying design intent.
Stu
Hey!
Forget about cars
What I need is a 1 click Ruby to produce a fully textured model of the Sagrada Famรญlia......and I need it now
OK.....I'm prepared to wait 5 minutes.....
four minutes 59........four minutes 58
Some more good stuff from Susan.

Glenn,
Your right of course, but I think I have wriggled out of this one. The 17" laptop I wanted didn't come with the option of XP. It's still on order however, and after asking them, the people I'm buying from said they could install XP Pro OEM for an additional $100. Sounds reasonable....fingers crossed
Stu
Thanks Glenn.
I'm trying to cover all options......how about partitioning the hard drive, loading XP and dual booting....with all the Vista problematic apps. on the XP side??
Or how about getting really serious......formating Vista from the very start and loading a legit OEM version of XP Pro....OK, that's spending $200 to get peace of mind
And all you Mac guys had just better keep quiet!
Thanks Paul,
not too encouraging
I'm looking at a 17" notebook and can't find any available with XP down here.
I have long thought that when my 2000LT became too ancient I would switch to Intellicad [which they claim is now Vista compatible]...looks like this might be the time!
Masta Squidge, good luck with Gramp's computer....from memory, 95 or earlier versions of AutoCad wouldn't run on XP. There are a few free basic CAD programs out there that might be enough for your grandfather
Stu
Jim,
A multiple copy option would be great
And thanks once again.....it's pretty obvious I like this one.
Stu
Gidon,
The movement is along the red, green, blue axial lines rather than to the left or right so it's possible to be in a position where it looks as if the movement is in the opposite direction to that indicated.
With the rotation.....the options are the indicated degrees or the ? which indicates a random rotation within 360 degrees.
And as well as all the discussed functions there is also the copy, return to the 0 axis point and drop to the red/green plane options.
All in one little Ruby
Fantastic Jim
Stu
Gidon,
If we are talking about one component, floating in mid air, well away from anything else...your right.
But if it's a complex model, with lots of groups/components all nested together its often impossible to find an axis to move along and if you do, your component will instantly snap to the nearest line, component, group etc.
This is where Mover becomes REALLY useful! Add to that 45 degree movement, multiple, on axis, rotation options and all controlled by an elegant little window.
I rate it as my most useful [and most used] ruby.
Stu
Thanks Jim,
Now I understand [well sort of].
As I mentioned, I have used nudge for a long time but find mover much more useful and easy to use. And I love the rotate function and its options. Used in combination with the x,y,z movements its pretty easy to get a random effect of , say, a soldier course of trees.

Jim,
I cant get this to work with SU V5 [which I still do most of my work in] so I'm presuming it's set up for V6?
If this is the case, how easy would it be to make it V5 compatible?
Sorry for being a pain
Stu
Stu,
Mover is not compatible with V5 since it is a WebDialog, which is a feature of V6. Have you looked at nudge.rb?

Jim, thanks heaps.
I have found Nudge rb invaluable for a long time but this with all the options displayed makes moving very elegant indeed!
And the rotate function is very handy as well.
Just a note on the rotate functions.......They were not visible on installation and I might never have noticed that I had to expand the box if it wasn't for the image in this thread.

An interesting new source for hi rez 2D PR plants from Downunder.

Thanks mate,
mmmm it looks like Vista is more deplorable than I imagined.......problems with 2007 Acad, and I've got 2000...looks like I've got fat chance!
A faint hope is that the Vista SP1 is supposed to be due soon..and the presumption that MS must get their core business OS right pretty fast if they are to survive.
Stu
It looks like I will be getting a new computer running Win Vista.
I have been using ACAD LT 2000 for years [obviousley ] and don't see a need to upgrade but from what I have read the only way to run it with Vista is in XP compatibility mode.
Has anybody had any experience doing something similar?
Thanks,
Stu
I found the succulents in the old SU forum....cant remember who posted them....but thanks.
[I did the arranging ]
Quite a few component instances here, so might have a bit more weight than the file size indicates.

Thanks Michael,
Very nice!
And Wow!....That woven seat is impressive!
