    • Organic Chair Model Question....I need help?

I am trying to model a chair similar to this one with all the tufting for a project and I guess I am not as practiced with organic modeling as I thought. I was wondering if any of the experts with organics could guide me a bit. First, I am not looking for anyone to do this chair, I just need to know if anyone actually thinks it is possible in SU? I have been pulling my hair out trying to make something that even resembles it but I am having no success. I have been using sandbox tools and every ruby imaginable incluiding sub.+smoothe. I just may not be as good at it, but i just cant seem to get anything that looks right, becuase this is for a fairly high end rendering so I cant just use anything. It seems like anything involving tufting is next to impossible in SU. Basically, if anyonoe can help with some workflow tips, that would be so appreciated. Also, if people do not think it is even possible in SU ,then knowing that would be just as helpful, because I have already wasted too much time on it. Thnak you in advance for any help.

Solo, I am loving the vue renderings I keep seeing from you. It has actually pushed me to start looking into it. Now it works as a standalone product correct? Becuase I cant find anything about sketchup on the vue site. And how much of a learning curve would you say it takes for vue? any insight is great, and more images please.

Good work bubba. You always seem to have a way to make the best of the basics in SU without using a rendering engine. I love seeing that.

Very nice illustrations. It is nice to see something of quality like this that was not run through any rendering. Any chacne you could share insight into your post processing methods?

    • Shots Anyone?

Just a few conceptual renderings for my nightclub project to get my mind going. No post processing, just straight v-ray output. Hope you enjoy them.

Solo these look great, I havent completely read through this thread so I apologize if I am repeating this question, but what did you use to map the textures? Im pretty sure photoshop cs4 can handle mapping on 3d objects, as well as zbrush...did you use any of these or was it in 3ds max?

    • RE: Has anyone had any success with RPtreemaker & V-ray?

Great help guys, I got them working now. This is a pretty good ap. considering how SU can barely handle 3D vegetation. I know xfrog can work but that still kills most computers. THanks again

    • RE: Has anyone had any success with RPtreemaker & V-ray?

Thanks for the explainations guys. I was actually following the same steps, but it just was not working for me, but then I remembered that I was running a past version of v-ray so I am assuming that was the problem since it did work for me at work which has the latest version of v-ray. One thing though, when I got up close to the tree, it still had a bit of a white halo around the edges... I am assuming it is because the maps arent perfect, right? Im not photoshop expert, but would anyone have any ideas of how to improve edges?

    • RE: 6 Time Champions!!!

Much appreciation for Myron, I would definately say he had a part in that game one way or another. Solo, the game was surely one of the best ive ever experienced...if your guys can get their s$&t figured out and get T.O. the hell out of there, they will be far better. It is a shame they were not able to utilize Williams at all. But, have faith because they are "Americas Team" right? Or did that change to the Steelers...? Steelers Nation, woooo. Haha ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • Has anyone had any success with RPtreemaker & V-ray?

I download this plugin and Im not having any like using the trees with vray. I tried using transparancy mapping with these textures (i tried using both trans. maps but I couldnt get any results with either) and they still wouldnt work right in v-ray. Anyone think they could get these working? Cause im not having any luck. Any help is greatley appreciated.
