Have you tried Google Video hosting? http://video.google.com/ I haven't but they might not compromise your file qualities (yep, I should try it, too). It says that through the web surface you can upload videos up to 100 Mb (each) - bigger files should be uploaded by their desktop uploader. This sounds like they do not comromise your 20 something Mb files. Gai... | Email "Γνώθι σεαυτόν" Dear Members, have you read the announcement?

Stu lol, I found out the difference between a 'caf'e' and a 'coffee shop' the last time I was in Amsterdam one of them has menu's that could make Jamaicans blush. I understand you not being totally convinced with PR 2d images as opposed to 3d trees, however you must understand that 'clipmaps' are not PR, they are not .png or tiff, they are 'alpha maps' in reality. I would prefer to use all 3D components but SU cannot handle it right now, hopefully the next version will make it possible. The walkway is a bumped texture, an Arroway texture. The problem I have with adding any structures, trees etc in PS is that it never really fits in, be it shadows, reflections, tones etc to a trained eye it's very noticeable. Thanks for the links, I will check them out.

Methinks the lady protesteth too much. When you post work that good, you undercut your own argument against SU as an organic tool.

Thanks Craig, The reason I did that was because you posted that thread, I was inspired by the submissions, so took a deserved break from SU work and had some SU fun.

That was total project, the render (final render) took under 30 minutes. That job I ended up giving away as a freebie, as after bank approval the client offered our company another project including using us as the building contractor. I used an AMD dual core 5000+ Vista ultimate 4GB ram 1x 8800gtx (I have a quad but it was running an animation render using Vue so I did not want to disturb it)

The desert is a beautiful place. For 15 minutes after sunrise and 15 minutes before sunset. We are also trying to figure out global warming. At 117F in the summer a few more degress are just as unbearable as a few less degrees. I am from Pennsylvania which is about the greenest spot in the nation. Growing up there I never thought about the smell of trees. When my dad died I went back and as I got off the planes, I didn't know what I was smelling until I realized it was the plants and the trees.

Isn't it a coincidence that we have two concurrent car topics which have something else in common? TATA Motors. The same company which have just launched "the world's cheapest car" is also financing the R&D of the MDI Air Car (see 'the world's cleanest car' topic). Guite

I picked it up at Target for 14 bucks. You guys are putting me to shame...all my time is eaten up by construction administration, so haven't had time to use SU or Podium, but it's been inspiring to see what everyone is posting.

I use to use a tablet laptop before I got my MacBook Pro. I used it to draw, but ultimately I didn't use it for much, hence when I needed to upgrade my portable I got a Mac. As for the usefulness of a tablet pc, that depends on what you'll use it for. If you draw, it would be great. There are some great art tools out there (Artrage is a great app). But if you plan on using it for 3D, I don't think it's very useful. I use the keyboard a lot and the tablet ergonomics didn't work well with pen to screen + keyboard strikes. Folding the pc to just have the screen showing + hooking up a keyboard did work but it's kind of awkward, though that's your best bet. You should ask yourself if you really need to tablet functionality, i.e., would you go out and draw with it in the park? In my case I didn't need it as much as I wanted. This comes from a person that uses the Wacom Inuos 3 on my desktop for EVERYTHING. My mouse sees very little action. I even hook it up to my MacBook, because I have a hard time using SketchUp with a mouse now. For the money I'd say get a great laptop. Tablet PC's are still pretty pricey.

My seven-year-old was following Santa this evening, it was all we could do to keep her from going to bed at 7:00 because she was afraid Santa would get here while she was still awake and she wouldn't get any presents. I've been doing a "really bad" job of keeping secrets this year. I hope she figures it out so I don't have to maintain the lie. She figured out the tooth fairy, but she didn't make the leap to Santa. Hope this doesn't confuse anyone. Yes, I know Santa is real .
