I posted this in the Trimble forum and it was recommended that I post it here so I would get notification of any developments:

Is there or will there be an option for corporate customers requiring many licenses to purchase a corporate key or perhaps blocks of licenses? Managing individual licensing per user account is a nightmare for IT admins. PayPal is also a non-starter at a lot of businesses.

I see that there is another payment processor in the works but I don't see anything specific to bulk licensing which is really our issue. I can work around PayPal if I have to. Any information about future plans is appreciated.

      Hi Derek,

We are discussing how to handle bulk licensing/sales and should have some more info next week.

Hi Rich, has there been a progress on this front? Our corporate environment also requires a bit more setup than an individual's computer, so it'd be good to see if you have found a way around this.

      Cheers!

    • RE: SketchUp 2016 - Is it slower?

We did a trial run at the office on 2016 and found it, as you put it, sticky as well. The same models that were fine in 2015 felt 'slower' in 2016. I found that opening some files was slower as well and thought that it might be due to the new tray system, but unfortunately, there's no real way to confirm.

I went to that setting for the nVidia graphics card, and i'm showing 'Google Sketchup' and not 'Trimble Sketchup'. Could that be the problem?

Would love for the reloading of models (XREFs) to be faster.

I work with huge models (300-500mb+) that are made up of smaller ones (100mb+) which different people can work on. But reloading those smaller models takes forever. Sometimes it's easier to delete and re-import rather than wait for it to reload.

Does anyone else have problems with this plugin in v2016? I understand it's an older plugin, but it does work in 2015.

Can't believe this is finally fixed.

Gah. Thought this would fix the explorer preview crash bug. Hopefully it won't be too long before a fix for that.

Are you using the first release of SketchUp 2014? If so, please update to maintenance release 1.

We were having the same problem as xjhossef. Couldn't figure out what it was because it worked on one half of the computers but not the other.

Looks like IT didn't update the half w/ the problem to maintenance release 1.

Thanks for the heads up ThomThom!

Interesting enough, I had the scattering of toolbars in 2013 recently. The file I was working on froze so I had to force close it. Open it up again and all the toolbars are unlocked from their positions. Seems to happen randomly but only when it freezes.

Anyone else getting this in 2013?

the only thing that would make it even easier for me.

when I drag the !AdditionalPluginFolders.rb to different computers I have to set up the file paths each time.

we have 4 folders of plug into load depending on needs.

Is there a pref/config file I need to copy across as well so that the paths are

For this and other great plugins a big donation coming your way for all your amazing work.

nothing in life is free especially peoples creativity.

What we did in the office was find the registry file and created one for 2013/2014 and put it on the server. Each time we need to install SKP and !AdditionalPluginFolders on a new computer, all we have to do is double click the registry for the correct version which then installs the correct path for the !AdditionalPluginFolders to find the other plugins.

Try making a folder with an empty file - F:/03-Tools/Software/SketchUp/PLUGIN LIBRARY/Plugins/1001bit_freeware/language/wframe.txt
Does that still give the error messages... 😕
None comes with the RBZ, so presumably the scripts make it ?

Have you tried removing the whole toolset, including its subfolders, then reinstalling from the RBZ... perhaps you have a rogue extra file, or missing file ??

Made a blank wfram.txt file. Just says that it's "finished reading language file". But then again, I never had a problem in loading the piugin in 2014. So i'm not too worried about this.

In 2013, I've deleted and installed the .RBZ twice. One from the 1001bit site and once from the SU warehouse. Didn't work on both occasions. But reading the comments it seems there a lot of people having the same problem as I am.

The v2014 error says, " ...no language file. F:/03-Tools/Software/SketchUp/PLUGIN LIBRARY/Plugins/1001bit_freeware/language/wframe.txt..."
This suggests that a file or subfolder/file is missing ?

The v2013 error suggests that Constant is not being set up.
If you copy/paste+<enter> these [in turn] into the Ruby Console what do you get ?
      GCH_1001bit_loader GCH_1001bit_loader::GCH_1001bit_load GCH_1001bit_loader::GCH_1001bit_load::GCH_1001bit_free GCH_1001bit_loader::GCH_1001bit_load::GCH_1001bit_free::GCH_1001bit_tools:: GCH_1001bit_loader::GCH_1001bit_load::GCH_1001bit_free::GCH_1001bit_tools::GCH_1001bit_staircase2

For 2014, I did a bit more digging around and found that there is no "language" folder. I've downloaded the plugin from both the 1001bit site and the extension warehouse. Both .rbz files have the same contents except for one thing. The .rbz from the warehouse has this "extension_info.txt" file which has this inside: ID=e5b1211a-8d1a-4813-bdc3-b321e5477d7b
      VERSION_ID=fbd307e2-d0f0-4880-9568-80d2032f0ffe

For 2013, I did what you asked and got this:

Has anyone been having problems with 1001 on SU2013? Plugin loads fine when SU is started but when you click on any of the icons or try to start a command from the drop down menu, nothing happens.

However, everything works fine on SU2014.
