I made a style that I want to share with others but I am a bit confused about something. For the style to work in the way I want it to the settings need to have textures on, x-ray mode, transparancy quality: nicer. I can't seem to save the style in a way that preserves these settings. Are these settings simply not part of a .style doc or am I missing something?

RE: 13''x19" presentation materials
I'm glad to see someone else uses this size. Have you found this site for paper tinanne?
http://www.graytex.com/13-x-19-papers.htm
I am about to order their non-tear paper for site plans. They seem to have a decent selection of 13x19 paper.
Here are some protective bags I found

thanks for the link. They only seem to have one product for 13 x 19 with no picture or reviews, but I will see if I can find out more about it.

13''x19" presentation materials
The widest my printer will do is 13". I am trying to find a website that has some nice presentation/portfolio stuff for 13"x19" prints. I have a few immediate needs like creating a portfolio for clients to look through, envelopes professional enough to give to lending companies/banks but cheap enough to give away. Flat sleeves to keep site blue prints in for the crew. Has anyone found any sites that have a good selection of things like this?

RE: Digital Camera
After spending hours on dpreview.com (I too cast my vote for it being the best camera review site) I ended up with the Sony Cybershot DSC-H1.
These were my goals:
-camera that could take reasonably high quality manual pics
-easy point and shoot with decent output (my wife demanded this)
-video clips with sound
-large screen
-ability to add wide-angle lens for interior pics
-under $500I have had it for about 2 years and I love this camera, my business partner and my brother both bought it after seeing what it was capable of. It does have a cable that can connect to any TV with RCA jacks (which is almost all). It has a fast ready time as well. It would be worth checking it out.

RE: Church sketch
Great presentation of the lines of the building. Pleasing overall as well. The composition of the second one with the grass is great, it provides interest but keeps the attention on the building.

RE: So what's in 6.4.112?
Modelhead, I would love to see your house cleaning tips! I bet others will be interested as well. I would suggest starting a new thread devoted to that topic and give us a heads up on this thread when its ready. Thanks again.

RE: So what's in 6.4.112?
I really agree with you Gai. I have found that this is generally a very constructive and creative forum. I would love to see it stay that way, I have learned so much from it.
I have noticed that negative ranting tends to gain momentum in forums and it changes the tone of the threads over time. People just start posting the same negative rants over and over again "the magic is gone", "Google doesn't care about us", "they never give me what I want" etc.. It drives away constructive and creative people that like the program and want to talk about how it is used. Your posts will decide what kind of forum this is. I am casting my vote for posts with some level of maturity and a constructive approach to problems as they come up.
That's my 2 cents. Does anyone else want to see a more constructive tone in our posts and less doom and gloom?

RE: So what's in 6.4.112?
In my opinion it seems like SketchUp and its developers have been put on a pedestal by many (including myself). There is only one direction to go from there: down.
It seems clear that they made a mistake regarding this release and are owning up to that. Is this really such an unforgivable mistake?
I realize many people are also talking about other complaints they have about the software. But I am disappointed by the way some people are voicing that. Put yourself in a developers shoes and read some of these posts and other SU flame threads. Would you really be motivated by these rants? Personally I don't listen to those who deal with their frustration like this.
Don't miss my point, I'm not saying people can't be upset with aspects of the software or its development. In short my suggestion is to realize that there are actual people you are trying to communicate with. They are not are servants or gods, they are employees at a software company. What happens to your creative process when clients talk to you this way?

RE: Optimize models
Did I miss something? I checked the video a couple of times but didn't see what the end result was. How much file size did all of that work gain?

Hello all, has anyone come across a herringbone brick texture, no grout, preferably a tan color?

Odd housebuilder.rb behavior
I know I'm not alone in loving this ruby. Simply amazing how talented and generous the creator is!
I am getting misplaced doors. Here is what I am doing:
-make wall
-put some reference lines where I want the edge of the door to be (I don't put these inside the wall group)
-select the wall
-click the add a door icon
-slide back and forth until it looks like it's in the right place
-click and it will often jump 1/2" to either side of where I want itI also can't reposition it to the right place. Attached is the skippy of part of the model that shows this behavior. I'm running windows xp in case it matters.
Anyone have any ideas?
I'm having trouble uploading the skp, I will try again later
