So what would the best workflow be, considering that I'm doing buildings in SU Pro, and rendering in Kerkythea? (When necessary; a lot of our designs go out as jpgs s traight from SU, with only the more elaborate ones going through Kerkythea. Obviously, the ones that don't get rendered don't need a detailed landscape.) Also, will this handle a situation where there will need to be trees within the modeled area? For example, 2-3 buildings that have trees between them, or a courtyard with a tree completely surrounded by the building?

I think I have seen some DC trees that change leaves for different seasons, but I don't recall ever seeing a DC tree that grows. Nice idea, though.

Where your cursor is placed when you start orbiting is the center of orbit. If you keep the cursor on some geometry while orbiting, it won't disappear.

I clicked this thread as I knew someone would comment on the thread title! In my opinion it depends where you're from...Different communities use different words, if the word has lost all offensive meaning amongst those people I think it's fine. However using such slang online probably isn't a good idea!

A fix that requires a full reinstall of my operating system is a bit draconian. But, yeah, I suppose I asked for that. I come from a unix background and generally prefer case sensitive file systems. Historically they are slightly faster (You didn't have to strip off the lower case bit for each character.) but with today's cpu's that's probably not measureable. Certainly as a web writer, I have to be aware of case all the time since the bulk of web servers run Apache on Linux.

Quite true. As bmike and a couple others have said, SU is essentially using this model already. It's a bit like if someone would have told Kahn he should sell his product for $2 instead of $50 when others were selling for $750. -Brodie

That is possible, but not really doable with a Dynamic component. Maybe some of those features to a more simple level. But anything very detailed would be complex to model into a DC. BUT, feel free to learn how to make DC's and try it yourself. I bet you could get some good results with enough time and effort. More likely though, what you want would be much easier to make with a full ruby script. Its one I've started a few times and never quite found the time to finish. One day though... Or you can use this: http://xfrog.com/ It makes files that are virtually impossible to use in SketchUp because they are so big. But if you want truly realistic, its your best bet. And get Maya to go along with it for rendering and model management. Vue would also be a good option. http://www.e-onsoftware.com/
