Thanks, I am currently making models with up to about 45,000 poly's. Most of the models above range from 15,000 to 30,000 but one or two, such as the M14 and Falcon Coupe, sit at about 45-55,000

Thanks all for the advice. I am still mucking arround in Kerkythea and all the work I have done can be seen above and on my website. From what you can see its not a lot but it can only get better

Reason for asking is that your renders look very CG-ish to me...
I suggest that you start try using one of the PM presets (no. 3 - and I'm sure you'll notice a big difference...

I have it set to custom settings but the only thing i have changed is the sky...so its still on the normal settings/setup. Thnaks for the advice, I'll try it asap

Woo, thats a nice sports car! I have a few sketches similar to that, based on the skyline design style, its a very nice car.

Thats exactly the thing I would suggest doing. At the moment I can not afford DE but I use other free apps such as blender, which isnt very good.

Well, I dont really think low poly sketchup models need the seems as the lines function in SketchUp compensates for that. Although it doesn't allow for very real renders, I dont mind. I'm not gonna spend any more time on doing stuff like that, modeling a car takes too long as it is.

Well I dont know then...It must just be exporting the geometry into something sketchup doesnt recognize. I have noticed also, Sketchup's 3ds export sucks. I can hardly every get a good 3ds export.

3DS MAX is your problem.....I have it and I have noticed even though autodesk designed the 3ds format it cant export 3ds at all. I always try to avoid 3ds through max as it always screws things up. I suggest looking for a format 3DS MAX exports that can be converted into 3ds and then import it into SU.

I have just started using the Kerkythea app and it's great. I found it very simple and fast compared to others and have done my first quick render with it and my second only render. Its the Rogue Falcon Coupe, simple but nice. Its quite low texture detail. I'll upload some Ford Edge / Rogue Revolution Renders once I get them done..

Well from what I can tell its the brakes. I have studied these wheels a lot and have a clear idea of what they look like

Very nice model...

The work on the frame and running gear is amaizing, I think I should try up my skills in that area.

I think that mini mini van looks great. I have wanted ,for a while, to build a mini van style vehicle..More of a coupe than a van

Here is a quick sketch of something I came up with a year or two ago

Model looks great, so do the renders. I think its a good attempt at a sensible car and you modeling is beginning to shows some really promising results

Here is a little update....

Updates:
-Minor interior revision has taken place
-Front seats have been started
-Dashbord has had a complete overhaul
-Door features are being added
-Problem with boot lid has been found and fixed
-Exhaust pipe and muffler have been revised
