      Hang on wait a minute!!!

      What your saying is:

      1. You have just started using SU,
      2. Just started to learn ruby,
      3. This is your first post to these forums!

What is going on here! Are you god?

I've been asking for this type of dialogue for the last 4 years and you give it to us in two days of learning ruby! You are god hey, come on own up to it, we'll work it out at some time surely so you might as well be honest now!!!

Well done mate and a huge thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I'd love to see the option for the material to be linked straight from the list per material, I know this is asking for more than I could ever have expected from anyone to grant when you are not directly aligned with the plugin development!

Looks to soft! And yes the water seems to steal the scene, maybe try a shift lens to keep the verticals but lower the scene!

I think that both with a subtle pencil or charcol filter in PS would be convincing!

Hmmm ... can't do that. I mustn't violate Stinkie's Reinheitsgebot: Thou shalt not use texture maps, and thou shalt most certainly not postprocess your images other than to tweak their colours and/or tonality.

Not really suggesting that you try mate! I know I wouldn't!

I too like the second image, would love to see the fin pickup a bit more of the directional light with less ambient light.

What are you using for lighting? Sky dome with some light panels? Would love to see out of interest how your setting up these little projects of yours, maybe even a gallery of your works so far?

I like both mate! They almost have an illustrated feel! I think that both with a subtle pencil or charcol filter in PS would be convincing!

I dont know why you are impressed Richard, your work infinitely cacks all over this!!

      Why????

Because you've shown some great artistic merit, true mastery over your applications and proof of simplicity in approach!!! All impress me mate!

    • RE: Onyx trees into SU

      @aidus said:

Well now you need to place complex tree in skp format directly in your project. I thin pavol is working on stuf which allows us to add mxm file as proxy not putting complex tree in main model. With this we can simply use very realistic trees like evermotion trees.

I'd say now they will try and save this and all the bug fixes till version 2 of maxwell! I hope though they will consider fixing the bugs in studio and release a fully working version of 1.? so that those restrained by the current economic climate are forced to buy V2 to gain the fixes!

Another great example of mastery mate!

The smoothing on the drop tables looks a bit strange though, For surfaces like that I normally smooth all then double click the larger flat planes and unsmooth those!!

Well done mate! Yes as stinkie suggests - pirinasi might be a great tool for you! And for us to enjoy your results!!!

      @marked001 said:

would love to, as always.... but this is about as far as these projects go.. wish i had more free time to play with them.

Well... You can make it available for others to take a look at it...
      Like a render challenge... 😄

Yeah I'd love to have a go at rendering it like a model using my cardboard model from SU method!

Mate for all the photo realism I think you could do justice by work work to make it more model like given the general lack of detail.

    • RE: Proposed Tower....Podium Renders

Mate I know your justifying the extreme non verticals but I have some issues.

Ok if for marketing, works a bit - needs colour!

If for planning / assessment the driving home of height is against the normal of wanting to prove or lessen bulk!

I love so much of your effect (really do and very much) but the verts need to be at least closer!

Although your technique is not something I'd use due to my common project type, I'd really love to hear some details on your processes if you wouldn't mind sharing your hard work there!

Again really nice work mate! Think about the verticals!!!

I'll have to search some of your other work now, nice stuff and sparked interest!

    • RE: New Little Render SU / Maxwell / PS

      I've put an update!

Don't want to go too dark given that I still need to see the design stand out a bit amongst the veg and shadows! So bit of a balance! So I've played with all elements to get balance right for slightly different lighting.

BTW we do have very bright sun here!

Though one thing that really jumped out for me was the tiles rarely lining up - and the grout lines varying! Not sure even a bad tiler wouldn't attempt to space and align them better!

      guilty of charge, hehe 😳

Oh mate thats just lazy!! 😉 Though now you know you'll never do it again.
