RE: Wish list for Sketchup 2018
Unlike Box' GIF, I always get an infinite guideline when i stretch my tape measure tool across a cylinder's end. what am i doing wrong? As for erasing unwanted guidelines and guidepoints with a SHORTCUT KEY - i actually use them as permanent column lines and other points of reference - and so, a global erasure would not serve me well.

RE: HIDDEN LAYERS in copied scenes
Thanks! And it seems to be permanent....vs. lasting only for one session.

RE: Wish list for Sketchup 2018
BOX suggests a guide need not be left as a remnant when resizing. I can understand that when the object is rectangular. Just drag the tape measure along an edge from a corner - but what if you wanted to resize a cylinder's diameter?

RE: Wish list for Sketchup 2018
When re-scaling (re-sizing) a group or component, the tape measure tool is used. However, more often than not, one needs to go thru the extra step of erasing the resultant guideline before closing the group or component. let's fix that.

RE: Best way to scale about a given point?
thanks to Eneroth, i learned that the axis origin of a group can be moved to wherever you need it by right-clicking one of the axis lines in the edit mode and choosing ''place''. you then close, re-open and scale. but to be clear, i am talking about re-sizing - not scaling. although re-sizing can also be construed as re-scaling. clear as mud?

HIDDEN LAYERS in copied scenes
If a scene is created that contains hidden layers, and then a new scene is created as a copy, the hidden layers need to be re-activated. Is there a way to avoid this? The hidden layers were generated by a plugin.

to Dave's point...I will watch for the next time the edit warning pops up so i can screen-grab it.

Sometimes, when you launch LayOut - or already have it running, but decide to open an additional drawing, you wait and wait until you happen to notice the Windows taskbar icon turned blue, at which point you click it. Let's get that fixed.

RE: Wish list for Sketchup 2018
Solve minor issue where you are being notified that you are about to modify a component ("do want to make this unique?"), when in fact, it's really a group. Other times when you attempt to modify a component, the warning does not appear.

The toolbar that displays iso, left, right, front and back views should have the graphics replaced by the verbiage. Getting tired of mousing over some of these icons to seee what they represent.

RE: Wish list for Sketchup 2018
The sticky nature of LayOut's labels is a source of frustration. Wish we could copy and paste them where the cursor is set (like in SKP) rather than zoom way in to be able to grab it by the neck and hopscotch it over with the Ctrl key. I say 'hopscotch' vs.'drag' since the canvas doesn't scroll when you get near its edge.
NOTE - the issue is especially problematic when labels have short leaders. -

I wish the bounding boxes could be blue for groups and red for components.

RE: Wish list for Sketchup 2018
I wish the LO workspace could scroll as you drag objects past the edge.

Wish SKP Pro would allow 3 computers, vs. 2, per license. One is a PC at the office, second is a laptop for jobsite visits and third is a PC at home.

RE: Wish list for Sketchup 2018
Wish that the right-pointing scene tab scroll button wouldn't be partially off the screen. Better yet, wish we could scroll the tabs left and right with sideways toggling of mouse wheel when cursor is hovering anywhere on the row of scene tabs, like I've mentioned twice before.

Wish that vertical z axis inference color could be cyan as the current blue can be construed as the black inference color.

I never realized 3d text becomes automatically unglued when placed in open space

RE: Wish list for Sketchup 2018
Wish that 3d text had the option to be created unglued. even if it lasts for only a session.
