      Incredible...

Just something curious, for me. I live in Spain, at 8 kilometres from the Castle of Calatrava "The Old", there was an arabian city called "Calatrava" (Qalat - Rabah, the castle of Rabah, in arabic language), the origin of Calatrava Surname.

      Hi pichuneke,

Regarding the su2kt "bug", here's the reply I've received from Tomasz... πŸ˜‰

      @unknownuser said:

SU2KT doesn't export photomatched textures on nested faces (inside group or component). I have checked that there is texturewriter2 in C++ SDK, but it is at least not documented in Ruby .. I have to find work-around for it.

Well... I help the better I can. As I am not a programmer... it's frustrating when I wish I could help and I know I can't do that.

Or perhaps I am a bastard and I know that saying the previous sentence makes me appear like a nice guy, as I know I can't help anyway πŸ’š πŸ’š πŸ’š πŸ’š

Anyway I wish he can fix it. And don't forget to thank him for paying attention to me and to the problem πŸ˜‰

The ruby .obj exporter doesn't work for me. The model has nested groups. 😞

I use Sketchup for fun, like the roman theatre of Cartagena thread, and I use a free version. And I am saving for leaving my home because today in Spain people usually leaves the house of their parents at 55 years old as they don't have enough money and... πŸ˜„ You know.

      Thanks!

I am fixing the glitches with the ground floor, you can see it at the first step of the stairs, so I am modifying the model.

I hope that this bug can help you in the development of Kerkythea.

I'll try to export myself to .obj and make a good render. See you πŸ˜„

      Thanks... 😲

I didn't expect so many congratulations. You can continue: I am intelligent, good person, a nice guy... πŸ’š

      Better not.

I did it in 2 weeks. The Challengue is from October, but the first time I heard of it was the 19 of January... Boring Weekends. That's the best description. πŸ˜„

And Frederik, I am sure you know of that, but after exporting to kerkythea to make a render of it, the curved surfaces lose the position of the textures... 😞

There are two of them. In the frons scaenae, at both sides of the centre (where the roman statue of August).

And I say it again: My english is a bit limited, forgive my mistakes (see the signature) πŸ˜†

I have finished it today, and today is the last day... πŸ˜„

But it is said that a new challengue is coming.

    • Uploading a file with 8.94 mb to Warehouse: File too big

3D Warehouse says that the limit is 10 mb, but my file has 8.94 mb and I need to fix it, as soon as I can, tomorrow saturday I won't be online...

      What is happening?

Or, What am I doing wrong?

      Thanks in advance.

SOLVED. Google Sketchup generates 3 different files: Sketchup v.5, Sketchup v.6 and Google Earth .kmz.

The generated .kmz was bigger than 10 mb, so I had to manually reduce the size of the textures used in the model πŸ˜‰

A vandal has appeared in the roman theatre of Cartago Nova.

Members of the Legion are looking for this person. Graffitis are being cleaned at this moment. At least you can see the actual situation of the construction of the theatre.

Due to my deep knowledge of Shakespeare's language, and to my superb capacity of comprehension... I haven't understood a single word, Gaieus πŸ˜†

Yes, I believe that you are telling me that the greek Ionic is different from the roman Ionic, the roman one has a more elaborated capital. And I believe that I have seen that difference on the net (I can't remember where).

But this January I am going to have a lot of work, and all the big progress that you have seen this week is going to be slowed πŸ˜’

So, be patient, please. The first thing I have to do is to investigate the famous single and eroded fragment of Ionic capital found in the area of the "Porticus in summa gradatione" in the roman theatre in Cartagena.

I am mixing latin with english and my brain is going to explode πŸ˜†

      So, be patient, please πŸ˜„

Ionic Order is easier than corinthian, so I am not afraid now πŸ˜„

If you are interested, when I finish the capitals I upload them here as an attachement.

I believe that today I will finish the corinthian column. And then I will have for my first time the known problem of "I want to replace this old component for this new one in the same geometrical position". I believe that is a classic...

Edit: the exact Ionic capital I need is "Italic Ionic". A friend of mine (the other model I told you) is looking for information about it.

I didn't understand what you wanted to tell me with the hungarian link. πŸ˜†

I am going to post a photo in the theatre thread with the actual capital. It will be about 230 kb at the moment, I did something wrong with the actual columns (they are too big, in fact I repeated them 3 times, I didn't know anything about components at that time πŸ˜„ ), so I can reach the 500 kb (but I don't think that happens).
