    • RE: The VP Debate!!!

"And I may not answer the questions that either the moderator or you want to hear, but I'm going to talk straight to the American people and let them know my track record also." Sarah Palin

Umm wasn't the point of the debate to answer the questions....How can you "talk straight" to the American people by "NOT" answering the questions?

Maybe it's just me but I want my VP to be able to answer a moderators question and if He/She does not know the answer then talk "straight" with me and tell me that you don't know the answer.

    • RE: [Plugin] GreyscaleMode

This script is absolute genius. For working drawings which you want to print out in black and white I used to have to export color jpg images and then manually convert them to grey scale in photoshop. Now it's all internal to SU. Badda Boom Badda Bing. I love it.

Looks great. Looks like a cookie jar but for dog treats. Can you lift off it's head and fill it with milk bone dog treats?

    • RE: Bad habits Annonymous

      Hi

I"ve read all the posts in this thread even though it's 5:54pm on Sunday night and I have a project due tomorrow and have at least 30 hours of work left to finish it.

Can you all say procrastinate. Hmm I better go take a nap so I will be ready to cram 30 hours of work into 10.

Ok so If I can take a nap well then I can watch TV for a while...then I get hungry so I better get something to eat....oops I"m getting sleepy after all I better make a pot of coffee...WOW look at the time I now only have 5 hours before the project is due and have to cram 30 hours of work into 5 hours.....

OK I better stop typing now and due some work.

    • RE: Sketch Up V1

Ross is right here. In addition you will continually run into situations where a student wants to do something but the previous versions are not capable and you will constantly be saying or tempted to say "but that was fixed in version 4" or "Now in version 6 that's easy to do" Plus I think it's your responsibility as an educator to be teaching current technology as much as feasible.

      My 2 cents

    • RE: Windowizer

OH please give us the option of NOT having double surface glass. I don't use a rendering application much and so I would prefer to only have a single polygon surface for the glass. I do hope that remains an option.

Thanks for bringing this up its nice to know your in good company...IE I have been tormented by this in ACad as well. I wonder if it's possible to alter the mouse button assignments specifically for autocad within the mouse control panel?

    • RE: Sketchup web exporter.

      I'd welcome this as well.

I've developed my own manual work-around to essentially create my own images and substitute them for the ones created by the Sketchup web-exporter. Once you generate one web export say for 36 images you can re-use the html code multiple times and simply replace the images with those that you create on your own.

    • RE: Coming Soon: Reload Textures

rendering apps like hypershot and fry and artlantis export all su textures to a seperate folder when you render with those applications so it must be possible to export all material textures to a seperate folder and also update them from that folder.

    • RE: :monument sign designs:

Nice design. I think the text in the middle section "Open Today" and "Open Today 9-5" may be hard to read from a distance because of the strong horizontal lines created by the horizontal slats. Maybe a rendering with "lines off" might make the letters pop out more. or maybe they need to be a darker color to contrast more. Just my 2Cents.

    • RE: THE MODERN VILLA IN THAO DIEN, HCM CITY

Very nice design and illustrations, However the 3d people are a bit cartoonish in comparison to the photo real trees and the remainder of the image. I think silhouettes of people or photo real people even if they were 2d components would be better suited to these illustrations.

Any symbolism with the "yield" sign as the headboard of the bed. IE: we should yield to our desires....or is my brain just looking for something that is not there.

    • RE: Are you ready for SketchUp 7 news?

I've heard that someone high up in Google does not like the name SketchUP and has decided that the product be renamed to GiddyUP, In a not so subtle reference to his love of horses.

One of the new features will be called Nibble, This feature will progressively Eat away at your model until eventually there is nothing left. The process can be controlled and the amount of nibble and the rate of nibble and when to stop the nibble are user controlled.
