that's a really cool plugin!
xrok 1 is correct about the ends, but that is a simple fix, set up a few different end patters, select the faces, use chris fullmer's random painter tool, and then replace the colours with materials.

pav
cheers for the help guys!
i defintely feel a lot more clued up on it now!
i guess i would be right in saying that there isn't really one use for it, it's one of those all in one programs.
would you agree solo?
uv unwrapping and exporting in different formats is defintely very cool, maybe i'll research little bits of this softwware at a time!
i did e-mail right hemisphere (the people who wrote deep exploration) asking what it's primay function is, when they get back to me i shall let you all know what they say!
pav
cheers for the heads up john.
hopfully solo will spot this topic then!
there is a rumour going round he's omniscient...
pav
hey guys, i know i am now going to sound like a real fool.
i was talking to an old colleague today, and we were discussing various pieces of software we have been using.
he mentioned deep exploration, which i know that some people on here use quite regularly as i remember mentions of it.
i was intrugued as to what this was (i didn't want to appear a fool in front of my friend so at the time i nodded, and feined understanding) so when i got home i googled it.
they have a website!
yay, you might think, but oh no. it appears whoever was in charge of describing what the damn thing does had obvioulsy swallowed a thesaurus that morning and i can't make head nor tail of it!

is it a bird? is it a plane? hopefully someone here knows!
if anyone can shed some light, i'd be ever so grateful, it could be the late night playing tricks on me,
or maybe i really am as dumb as i look (not possible)who knows eh?
cheers my lovely sketchupy friends!

being mayor doesn't give you the right to have an avatar that makes me feel sick.
oh wait, i guess it does!
he he
pav
my nickname is simple,
my name is luciano,
luciano pavarotti's name was luciano.
i got called pav, for as long as i can remember.
luci is fine though, (lucy, most definitely is not! he he)
pav
thats's a crazy good tip!
i'm gonna go test it now to make sure you're not on a wind up...
pav
i think this should be allowed, it would make taking the tube far more fun.
no idea how to embedd, my bad.
pav
i'm running on about 2 at the moment.
got to sleep remus!
oh, i dont have the link for it (perhaps gaieus will provide?) but there is a really nice video on layout from the last 3d basecamp.
it's an hour long and helped me loads.
pav
Cheers for the reply guys.
Looks like adobe have bascially tried to pull a fast one. From what I have read on the web, it's a bit of a recuring problem. The more complex a model, the more problems.
I can successfully import a plain cube, but anything beyond that seems to be impossible.
Think I might try pirenisi, it was worth a shot with it though I guess!
Thank you again.
Pav
i wondered if anyone could help me.
i ma testing out the CS4 extended photoshop, and decided to try and import a SU model.
to do this you have to first export the model as a .kmz file.
after doing all this, and opening in photoshop, all i get showing up are the window from the house model i have imported, nothing else!
any ideas?
help is much appreciated.
pav
wow.
just dl'd SP on that example alone.
fantastic
pav
i got an upgrade code with my new computer, i realise now i should have done it before installing all my software, but if i do the upgrade do i lose all my software/settings?
feel like such a fool for not doing it earlier.
pav
two good questions!
erm, i did birth location but it is up to the user.
if you were born at 3am, then you'll have a dark image!
all part of the fun.
pav
had an idea, not sure if anyone is intersted, but it thought i might be fun.
on the attached skippy, set your location, paint the object your favourite colour, and set the date and time of your birthday as the shadow settings.
what do you say?
i enclose mine at the bottom as an example.
