RE: Google Tilt Brush
I saw this on the Gadget Show....even an amateur painted something pretty impressive. You do need a kinect-style device tracking your movement in the room though.

RE: Any smokers here? Wanna quit?
I went down to 3mg about 6 months ago, I don't really need much nicotine plus it's cheaper for me to make the juice.
I got one of those EGO AIO too....good for out and about.
I've noticed lack of mouth-to-lung style vapes too. I tried the Endura T18 which is cheap and cheerful....can't fault it really. Great flavour. It does get tiring using sub ohm as it's hard to be discreet.
For direct-lung sub ohm I'm still using Kanger Subtank on my Provari Radius, 0.5 ohm coil. It's hard to find a device that genuinely does both. I'm happy you can finally get a lung hit Stefan!
I do like sub ohm devices but I can't help but enjoy the throat hit you get from traditional plus-ohm vapes. It's closer to smoking IMO, with lung hits I seem to just keep vaping like a chimney; perhaps not very satisfying.
Currently vaping my own homebrew.....Pinkman (Vapours R Us flavouring) and Veuve Red (a flavouring from EXTRADIY Paris). Yum yum!
Veuve Red is very special for me; it has a unique floral taste when you first inhale and over time it develops into pure red berries, maybe even some sweet cranberry. I've never vaped anything else that tastes even remotely similar. I buy 20-30 bottles of concentrate at a time!
Pinkman is a strong tasting all day vape.....raspberry and blackcurrant, but quite indescribable maybe sherbet. I've tried three different "Pinkman" flavour concentrates and have found Vapours R Us do the best, also happens to be the cheapest. It costs hardly anything to make your own e-liquid it's almost free!
Well done everyone, keep it up!

this is unbelievable for SU

RE: SubD examples and models
Nice!!
I thought I was talking jibber jabber but you catch my drift!
Can't you already do something similar with Maxwell? It renders a subdivided version of your control mesh? I'm not maxwell user so unsure. Also needs to be realtime, simple shader.
If you could switch between SU viewport and a SubD render overlay that would be better.....kinda like Thea where you can see the render in the viewport. If you could press a hotkey and the screen changes to the subdivided render that would be a total game changer for SU.
Even if it was a preview window I would be happy to be fair.

Had SU known only about the control mesh then any tool could edit the mesh while the viewport displayed the subdivided result.
You explain things better than I do!
This is what I mean; is there a way to show the subdivided mesh in a small window that runs real-time with the SU model?
You would simply play with the control mesh in SU and a window shows a subdivided version that moves in real time with the SU model? When you rotate, zoom and orbit the subdivided "render" does so too.
Then when you are happy you can do the final subdivision inside SU right at the end.

RE: SubD examples and models
Yes and about a half second in Wings 3D (which is pretty much redundant) and a half second in meshlab. SU is really bad at subdivision times; makes you wonder if you can integrate a subdivision app via a plugin so that SU doesn't even have to calculate the subdivision at all.

RE: When someone destroys your stuff! GRRR!
love your work Richard. That is all.

RE: Twilight Render - Challenge
is your index of refraction too high Dave? It looks like extremely thick glass (even though we know it is not)
keep going!! You'll nail it soon.

This is the first TPD compliant vape from eGo.
It's called the eGo AIO.
Have a read:

RE: Any smokers here? Wanna quit?
Well done Gareth. When you're celebrating let us know and I'll crack a beer open too! Those 2.5 Provaris are still the best IMO, the P3 had some issues with battery terminals not connecting all the time. It also used to say the battery was low when it wasn't. IN fact my 2.5 mini still works and I dropped it from a second storey window!
Stefan: The radius IS overpriced for what it does....but it's built extremely well. It's hard to compare it to other box mods because I've never seen one built as good as the radius. It really is a different league of quality, feels like an old Leica camera in the hand. Only goes up to 40 watts but I only vape around 20 watts anyway. But at the end of the day it does the same job as any other mod 5 times cheaper.
I like to use the Radius when out and about and I always keep the RX200 at home. RX200 genuinely lasts the whole day without charging.
I know exactly what you mean about box mods.....they really aren't ergonomic. I just like the look of the Radius....a tube is still better in the hand but usually longer than a box mod.
I was also going to buy the goblin mini....but you need to use a screwdriver to fill liquid! And if you top-fill it's really messy. It looks quality though, I've seen loads of good reviews. The reason I use subtanks is because my whole family use the same coils....it just makes sense to all use the same devices as I know the liquid I make will be nice for all of them.
I have a Uwell Crown but not happy with flavour; it tastes a bit muted, almost metallic and clinical. Not my cup of tea so that's now a spare.
My mum bought this Endura for going out (photo below).....surprisingly nice. Great flavour and cheap. Plus ohm mouth-to-lung style but really quite good and very discrete.
I do get a bit bored of direct lung inhales.....it feels like i get less "hit" and no throat hit at all. Maybe I'll go back to the good old kayfun!!

RE: Any smokers here? Wanna quit?
I wouldn't worry guys.
They can't ban the large tanks. They will just say "not for use with nicotine" on a sticker.
They can't ban mods because they are already being sold as "torches".
They can't ban liquids over 10ml because they'll just sell large 0mg bottles and a separate small bottle of nicotine to mix in.
What I'm saying is; the cat's out the bag and there's no stopping it. It certainly won't stop me from vaping what I want.
Stefan: a petition was signed by over 10,000 people here in the UK but it made absolutely no difference. Glad you are still smoke-free
Around 3 years smoke-free now, can't believe it! Feel a million times better.
I bought a Wismec RX200 for at-home vape. It holds 3x18650 batteries, quite a beast.
(Provari Radius on the left and Wismec RX200 on the right, both with Kanger Subtanks at 0.5 ohms)

RE: SubD examples and models
No problem....only just got round to really testing this. Thanks again for all you do.
