upgrading a mac? Are you sane? I heard it's perfect so no need for hardware changes. I love imperfection so I use Windows... Linux should be better but no Sketchup. I can tell you that, with windows, changing from a laptop with an nVidia 425M with 1Gb to a Titan X with 12 Gb, simply changed everything I knew about LO and SU. I feel it's a different software, and though it has limitations, performance has increased so drastically I cannot conceive how I could cope with it.

Have you saved scenes in the SU model? Those scenes should be selected to render in LO in the Sketchup Model tray. If the scene in the LO Sketchup model tray reads "Last saved Sketchup view" then that is your problem. It is very important that the link to the saved scenes in SU is maintained. If you do this, the LO viewport will not shift and you will have no yellow triangles. There is no need to redo any LO work if this accidently happens - leaders and dimensions are snapping to the SU model reference. Once it is rerendered to the original scene (assuming you placed all the leaders and dimensions with the correct scene selected), everything will automatically return in order.

You should be able to contact them through SketchUp.com One guy I know had this problem on his Mac and like you, found that turning off Hardware Acceleration helped in some cases. He wound up taking his computer into a place that specializes in Macs. They discovered that his graphics card had some problems. After replacing it, the issues were entirely cleared up. I'm not saying that is the problem in your case but it was the fix for him.
