RE: Wall series
yeah its a kind of abstract. because i will use the output using traditional painting.

Wall series
trying to integrate visualization and traditional art. i have the idea of manipulating walls, render them and use them as collage ephemera with my paintings. will also look at styles as part of the process. a possibility which i dont know will go.
this one i manipulate textures using sketchup and photoshop editting inside SU, then use mostly tools on surface to push pull lines, render them in vray. i will use these rendered wall surfaces and make a collage.

RE: Handrawn visualization
i actually did this for three weeks. half was done in vietnam then i went to kuala lumpur to finish it. This was my last project because when the economic crisis struck asia, all of property development were stopped in malaysia. my salary was also cut into half becuase the ringgit was devaluated from 2.5 to 5.0 against 1 USD. I left this company in 2000 and after a decade this project finally took off. I still follow what's happening through my former colleagues.
Here are some current photos
the site is in the golden triangle and its quite near with Petronas tower as you can see on the photo.
here are some demolition pictures
Pekeliling flats before demolition

Handrawn visualization
Before I used max or sketchup, i was doing a lot of hand-drawn visualizations before and they are huge. Here is one of them were I have done this on 1.2 m x about 2 meters. If I may recall, I think this was somewhere in 1995. It was a huge development in kuala lumpur were more than 10 22-storey flats will be demolished and give way to this huge development.

STUNNING WORK! Mate!
Wow everything is balanced well, I'd probably like to see the downlight in the recess throwing a bit more light just to drag the eye to the interest there.
BTW mate is the finish to the window shelf right? It looks to be the same as what I would imagine as paper on the walls!
Well done mate, makes me want to be in the room and soak it up! Exactly what you were trying to project I'm sure!
hi richard,
coming from a great maxwell rendere like is humbling. but im happy with your comment.
you are absolutley right in increasing that light. i actually gave that IES a bit more of multiplier to get the effect lighting on that niche to be highlighted but i end up overburned on the floor. im actually having a dilemna if it s the wall color or if it is the IES data. but my suspect would be the green color.
I wanted to achieved a wall paper effect on the wall. Matte finish.

Great image, I really like the lamp shade material. Did you model the pillows in sketchup? I've only attempted pillows a couple of times in sketchup and have gotten ok results.
pillows were imported 3ds. -

Really? well your skills are still strong.
I did 247 paid renders (big and small, one client commissioned 137) and about 300 playtime/test renders last year.
that is indeed a good hobby. you play.. you enjoy and make money.
