So you guys read the sketchupdate post too?
I must say, it all looks very pretty- my computer would soooo break though...

I am inclined to believe that SU7 is not out yet because autodask were worried that Sketchup would be better than they were, and so they eradicated Google from the earth. Ther reason it all appears to work is because autodesk stole their servers first, and generated a massive hologram to make it look like their campusses are still there. Of course, the holograms were made in maya...
So, in short, google is now run by maya, and all work on sketchup has been lost- no sketchup 7 ever.
So that is what flight path is for!
I should have guessed. Yeah, I have weld already- brilliant plugin, very useful- the find faces feature on it is very nice.
Thank you very much Gaieus...
Thas ok, took me ages to work out how to do it-
Basically, find the directory of Google Sketchup, which will probably be on tthe C drive on a PC, andon a mac... just search for it..
and then you extract the zip into that folder
How do you mean?
Sorry, I think I've had too much ginger beer, but I don't quite understand what you mean.
Sorry again XD
Just wondering, is it possible to change the default settings in SU?
I don't mean dimensions, I mean changing the default style, viewpoint, swapping Bryce for someone else, etc...
I know there must be a way, because it asks you which view you prefer, right at the beginning, and I guessed it probably changes a model somewhere...
Anyone got the know-how?
Wow.
All I can actually say. Now I really need to learn kerkythea.
Very beautiful, all of it, it just looks so real, and the composite one was stunning.
Ouch- if sketchucation had a karma system, some would be heading your way now...
Will all of these plugins work on a mac?
Just checking, I'm running an XP desktop, but I definitely want to upload these onto my macbook su at some stage...
Thanks a load, these are great, whatever.
I need to figure out how to make something a graphic buttonny thing... is it particularly hard, cause if I could make graphic versions of my favouite plugins...
nah, I'm getting too far ahead.
I would be sure to post them on here if I ever got the free time though
I had a look at your model- very nice claps But, what did you use to go from the wire frame to the fleshed out model. I tried a from contours, but it wasn't wuite the same...
I just pray that you didn't use soap skin bubble, because then I'm really stuffed
OOPS!
I went on a plugin spree the other day, and I forgot about ffd- I will get it later, when I'm on a computer with Sketchup- I will have a look at that .skp as well.
Thanks a load...
i personally think that scenes should be able to remember face style as well as all of the other things, and you should be able to plot your own path for the animation.
is there a plug-in for this?
I REALLY need to stop looking at the gellery- can give one an inferiority complex...
Seriously, DUDE! They are very, very pretty. I really need to get on top of some rendering software. Mind you, I need to finish a decent model first, don't I?
Ooh...aah...
I still play with lego, and while they look too clean to be real, which, I suppose is a compliment in itself, that is a pretty nice attempt. I am still getting to grips with kerkythea though, so I guess it will be a while.
But yeah, pretty renders- and for not very mch tiem, too- I recently downloaded and made a whole set of lego bricks and put them in my component browser- unfortunately, I can't load them up on here, it kills the computer...
Me likes though, they do look very real
hmph. The link has broken since yesterday- I'll post the pictures...
Sorry about that...
specifically, this. I saw it on another thread and I thought I would have a go at it, but my lack of experience seems to be getting the better of me. I guess I just don't know where to start- once I get started I'll be fine, but I feel I just don't have enough reference to work with- onwe birds' eye view photo and one quirky perspective view.
So far all I have managed to do is outline the top view, but I am completely at a loss...
Any ideas?
I don't know if this has been raised before, but my tip would most certainly have to be...
Intersect with model is under the edit menu.
If I had known this when I started sketchup, I would have been making cooler models faster
wow, thanks- that clears things up a bit.
Great, and Β£27 is the kind of thing I can afford at the moment too.
It also said I can put that money towards a proper license as well.
I love google
The exporting is the really big one for me, also the ability to run certain extensions, as well as access to the style builder.
Okay, a little background may be in order here...
I am 14, living in the UK, and an avid sketchup user- at some point I would really want to go to a basecamp, but now, it is a little tricky. The story goes that I would really want su pro for my laptop, but it is just something I really cannot afford, due to a very large lack of regular money- I would be able to use it a lot more, as well as be able to plug my designs into a cnc in the tech department of my school and actually make them, greatly increasing my productivity, I would love layout, style builder etc...
I also run workshops for sketchup within school, and am part of a society dedicated to sketchup.
I want that software, and will save up for it, but I am wondering, does any kind of discount for education exist- I couldn't really find much on sketchup.com, so I'm asking you guys.
Thanks a load
