currently, sketchup has a limited capability wih shadows- if the alpha value of a surface is >70, it casts a solid shadow, and if it is <70, it casts no shadow.

Does anyone else agree that this is woefully inadequate for a program of sk's calibre? I would have it o the alpha value changes the density of the shadow, and the colour of the object also changed he shadows hue. If you wanted to make a church, for example, the stained glass windows would be very difficult.

Opinions?

As the title says, I was wondering about the use of this function. I have known about it for a while, but it isn't listed anywhere obvious in sketchup.

Is it just a glitch or does it have some use I am not getting?...
