Have you looked at some of the sketchy line styles?

RE: Contemplation
+1, looks like a scene from a movie where you walk in to your home and there's someone there waiting for you...

If I'm understanding correctly, you can select the single face you wish to delete and delete it.

Iβm definitely following this thread and intend to go back and try to recreate the lessons in each gif. I didnβt find the questions and comments distracting, as some of the questions were ones I had myself!
same here!

RE: First Sketch of 2019
Sweet! I've never built drawers this way, but have been curious to try. perhaps this will be the kick in the pants I've needed. Have you ever used them yourself, Dave? Best,

Lost thumbnails in windows 10?
Hey y'all- I wonder if anyone else has recently lost the ability to see their skp thumbnails in Windows File Explorer? I run Sketchup 15, Windows 10 ver. 1809 . I imagine it's due to a recent Windows update, as until recently I had no problem viewing them. Strangely, the skb (backup) files still show (though I haven't got many of them saved on my computer as I usually delete them when I know I'm done with a project). Other file types, pdf, jpeg, etc., all show normally. Even if I view files from within Sketchup (File/Open, the thumbnails don't show.
Alternatively, are there any decent, safe, free thumbnail generators which are recommended?
Thanks,Michael -
RE: Another work in progress
I have always liked that piece, and am also interested to see your progress with the model. Updates!

RE: Latest table commission
thanks-good eyes. in the center, the top is doweled to the "box" that contains the drawer, and on the outside there are 4 steel pins. Getting it all to line up was a bit nerve wracking when it came time to glue up, but it all worked out.

Latest table commission
Hey y'all- Wanted to share my latest piece. A hall table (though it will live in the great room of a home here in Santa Fe). Made from fabulously curly cherry and birds' eye maple. Features angled, tapered sides (joined with maple splines), a bent laminated stretcher, and a tapered top ("borrowed" from Michael Fortune). I'm pleased with the result, and as usual, SketchUp was very helpful laying out fussy joinery, as well as many iterations during the design process. Comments welcome. Thanks,
Michael

RE: Cherry Jewelry Box on Wormley Sideboard
Nice! Is the weaving in the sideboard wood? leather?

RE: A Japanese Garden Roofed Entry Gate Design
I was kidding about the "Waiting for Godot" reference. It's an "existentialist" play about absurdity and meaning and the human condition. A gate, a barrier, from nowhere to nowhere... guess not too many absurdists here- ah, never mind, carry on

RE: A Japanese Garden Roofed Entry Gate Design
Really nice. I also like the feel of the gate "in the middle of nowhere" that doesn't open on to or from anything in particular. Very existential, reminds me of "Waiting for Godot" or something similar

RE: Krenov-style cabinet on stand
very nice. One small quibble- I don't think Krenov used the miter joint for cabinet doors much, if memory serves he used bridle joints or m&t. Just my $.02, not meant as a criticism

Latest woodworking project
Hey y'all- wanted to share my latest woodworking project. A display table meant for a friends' pottery studio. Maple and Madrone, @ 36" tall. Tried to keep it light and airy, and added some fun joinery and shaping details. Lots of iterations via Sketchup before settling on this final design.
thanks!

Latest chair project
Hey y'all- Wanted to share my latest project, a set of four dining chairs, made for myself and my girlfriend. Cherry, with synthetic leather upholstery (first time I tried that!). Mortise and tenons, bridle joints and splines. Sketchup was so helpful, particularly with joinery, as most of the joints are compound angles! (Must give credit to Reed Hansuld for the inspiration of the design)
Thanks for looking!

RE: Milestone
Congratulations. No disrespect at all intended, but at a different scale they remind me of the little plastic things that come in pizza boxes
