    • RE: Question about thumbnails

No luck there either (Under Model Info/File there is "redefine thumbnail" but it's checked) Curious and a bit annoying.

    • RE: Question about thumbnails

Hey Dave- Thanks for the input. Nope, I tried various options, doesn't change. Wonder if there's a setting somewhere for setting thumbnails? Do I remember hearing about a setting within Sketchup for saving thumbnails or something like that?
As always, thanks for your help,
      Michael

    • Question about thumbnails

Hey all- I'm sorry if this has already been covered, but I thought I read that the thumbnail issue in 2015 has been resolved. I can see thumbnails if I open my sketchup file directory directly from "My Documents". However, if I'm opening files from within sketchup "File/open...etc" all I get are blanks. See the attachment.
      Am I missing something?

Good eye. Yes, that was one of those things at the end of a project..."Do I really want to put in all this extra work for a slightly nicer end result?" Usually, just by asking the question you've already implied the answer. I'm glad i did it, but it was fussy...

That is funny, but it's really a hole to rout the cords from my keyboard and mouse. (Yes, my keyboard and mouse actually still have cords. I'm a barbarian, I know...)

    • Latest project Computer Desk

Hello all- Thought I'd share latest project. A computer desk I made for myself. Wanted minimal and modern rather than lots of storage...
made from cherry and Paldao (a beautiful Asian hardwood) that has a live edge. Nice I think. Thanks for looking, MichaelIMG_0859ed (1024x768).jpg

(I totally agree), but insulting the client is usually possible after more beers than I can manage these days πŸ˜„ I should have arranged a better venue for photography but I'm a better woodworker than photographer...

    • Latest furniture project

Hey y'all- Just thought I'd share my latest commission. A hall table, made from black walnut, with a Claro Walnut top, and pear drawer front. Check out the beautiful grain in that top! As always, Sketchup was really helpful, in this case, tweaking dimensions made easy, so I didn't have redraw by hand for every iteration. And also to experiment with slight variations of the various curves involved... Thanks for looking. Comments, questions, criticisms, welcome.
      Best, Michael

not sure what the problem is- You're not trying to use the pictured guidelines to create the edges, are you? Draw solid diagonal lines instead...Untitled.jpg

Hey y'all- Just thought I'd share my latest commission. Hall table made from Swiss Pear (a beautiful wonderful wood) with a bubinga drawer front. Construction features dovetail splined miters and through and wedged carcass tenons. Really satisfying project. In my original SketchUp model I had incorporated corner splines out of bubinga, but the pear wood told me they weren't necessary, and I listened πŸ˜„031edit (1024x998).jpgchinese style madrone.jpg
