I think I've discovered my problem. The models I've been working on were created in SU6 and SU7. Any groups that were twisted after creation have their group axis out of whack when edited in SU8. Thanks for the input.

Hi Max, In the Windows version at least, you can simply drag the tray by its header (Where it says "Default Tray") and undock it. Then you can drag it around the screen independent from the main working window. To restore it, go to View > Restore default workspace.

hi, i wonder, if we finally get some stable and reliable tool to import vector files, like cdr, ai or eps to SU ? coreldraw helps me to get complicated 2D design into SU, via dxf file. when drawing contains minimum points, it´s become distorted. if contains plenty of points, it´s become very complicated for further editing. (weld plugin too) is there any plugin to get into into SU in perfect shape with minimum points to share our time and patience please? maybe it´s time to tell the SU creaters to add import for vector formats into higher version of SU. cheers !
