In this case all your windows or most of them will be different.
Can you imagine the cost of this?
Ye, but atleast all put my monster rig to good use
(If you mean cont of production, Im doing this project as an experiment)

Do you mean your walls are not vertical?
Yes Thanks, I ment the wholes are slanted in different directions. Each floor is different. This is why I think a "paint surfaces with component" could be very useful
I tried using the component stringer. It works fine in most cases until you get to unevenly oriented/slanted walls (e.g one wall is facing up, but the angle slowly changes, and then you have a wall that faces down slighty)
Im thinking that the solution to this could be a plugin that would:
Draw/Model a "pattern" on a selected surface or surfaces. The "pattern" would be assigned by selecting a component.
Thankyou guys Ill look through them
So this is the solution Im trying to think of... I have a facade of the building (as you can see its uneven, bottem smaller then top etc). And I an window design I want To apply to it. Shape bending tool wont do the job, the fredo scale might but what happens if there will be like 30 floors to do,window will be a pain.
I found this thread to be a really usefull tutorial.
Give the kid a break, everyone pirated something atleast once in there life time. xD But ye if you like and find it usefull, pay for it, sooner or later. I understand that many kids might not have the cash or the means to pay (e.g parents refushing to use there credits card). So if your one of the kids, remember to say a thank you to the developer by paying for it, when your older.
Think of how lucky you are that you wont be having to pay 4000 for zbrush or something.
My friend keeps telling me that architectural firms, especially well known ones dont use sketchup, and if they use it the results are poor. I just want to prove him worng, its bugging me.
A bit of help on this one?

This is now the third generation of this competition; it was originally founded by Adrian Ławniczak and Tomasz Piękoś, in cooperation with igol.pl. The competition had one goal: to bring people together who love designing stadiums in a healthy competition.
There is no grand prize for winning this competition, except a bit of recognition and a feeling of grand satisfaction. The competition was originally limited to the forum.igol.pl. However we believe that it is time to expand it beyond the realms of igol.pl and into skyscrapercity, sketchueducation and possibly skyscraperpage.
You can see past entries here (random order):

c. Area (B) is extra land, no part of the stadium's structure may be located on it. This area may, but does not have to be developed by the participant who creates the design of the stadium.
d. The Guidelines specified apply only to the stadium. Other parts of the infrastructure are chosen by the participant.

I know an architect who forgot to design a staircase into a two storey house. Now that's saving on the space big time!
Omg really? No... way? What did he provide a rope?

Thank you Ill read through it.
Update:
Im designing this house for an artist (Andrew Jones), from what I know hes lives alone, but I want to future proof the house also, thus the extra room.
Ofcourse not all toilets and bathrooms are visable, just to give a simple sense of scale, each cube you see (on the ground or on that side wall) is 3m x 3m
Input?

What kind of mouse did you buy? You'll probably need to have some sort of settings for those buttons in the OS before you can assign any shortcuts.
What OS are you using and what version of SU? Most people put that info in their profiles.
Its ok Im using a cheap argos wireless mouse, its surprisingly really good. Apparently the top button is the DPI button and cant be changed. so I will be just using xmouse for the two side buttons.

I know I'm being obtuse, but a room should be as big as you need to to be and as big as you can afford.
Practically speaking you need to look at furniture sizes and the space people will need to use that furniture comfortably. You also need to consider how people move around and between spaces and allow enough space as you can.
There's no exact science and if you ask a dozen people for their optimum room size, you will get a dozen different answers. Ultimately the room size will depend on a balance between budget, practicality and aesthetic considerations - hence my opening comment.
However a small room will feel claustrophobic a big room might not feel personal, and too open. Perhaps if I could get an average or something. I know that my brief says just to design a house, and does not mention any furniture, but at the end of the day furniture and a sol goes in it.

I like playing ping-pong in my kitchen for instance.
Dont worry, you'll be able to play ping pong in my fantasy kitchen too, thats standard.
In architecture Uni, Ive been tasked to design a house. Now I thinking I dont know anything about a house. Nothing. I wish someone could tell me how big should a room be, a living room,a kitchen etc. Its a basic question with no answer, google search results are pretty much spammed with irrelevent information.
How big should a room be, a living room,a kitchen etc.? (In meter squared)

if paying 70 or 80 bucks for an upgrade roughly every 2 years or so my demands would be pretty demanding too, could imagine that, besides the compulsive stuff already mentioned, brewing a yummy cappuci or latte macchiate every now and then could be a great improvement too go4it
a Linux/iOS/Android/<replacewithyourOS> version can be expected also, no doubt!!!
leavin' ironic mode,
Norbert
On the other hand its only 70 bucks. However yes I do agree modelling features need to free, plugins like curviloft, soft skin and bubble need to installed from the beginning. Features like layout should be pro.
Sketch-up is slowly being more often used in architecture studios, for good reason, its fun and easy. The only thing the way sketchup should evolve is by keeping the original philosophy (it should be fun and easy.
I could pretty much make everything that could had been made in rhino, thanks to sketchup's free plugins. Google needs to make them standard. My rhino tutors are saying wow.. you made that in sketchup? And yes I said Ive made that in 10 mintutes. In fact I was so good at it that he said to me "hey listen you don't need to do these lessons, just use sketchup, I'll pass you.
Now what I propose for the free verson is, a simple opening advert wont hurt.
Hey guys I brought my self a wireless mouse it has multiple buttems, however I would like to assign these bottems to different commands, I go to shortcuts and click on the mouse bottem but nothing happens.
The mouse didnt come with any software, however in google chrome two of these bottems are used for back and forward.
I also have a 6th button under my mouse scroll, I tried x-mouse but there isnt an option for it. So I probably need to find another program.
My computer is gimped, I have a deadline for an architecture project in my course. It just takes too long for me to render even something quite simple. I'm afraid I might not make it on time. Could anyone please render the project for me? I don't think there any problems in my model's. I'm using Podium 2 to render it.

Thank you very much! works perfectly
Basicly its one big model, no components and no groups, and im just trying to hide a few lines permanently because they ruin the presentation and even confuse me sometimes. Im still progressing with the model.
