Rick Perry (LMAO)
-
For those who do not know this guy, he is the Texas governor and presidential candidate for the upcoming elections.
I'm not a fan of his and noticed many Americans, even the ones on the right are also turned off by him lately.
Anyway this is pretty funny, he launched a new advert last week that has become the brunt of many rebuttal ads done by the public on You tube.
His views are pretty uh, fundamental to say the least, here is the original advert:[flash=600,400:332tunee]http://www.youtube.com/v/0PAJNntoRgA&feature=player_profilepage[/flash:332tunee]
Now for some of the responses:

I wonder if Mr. Perry has bothered to study these parodies. Or if he is even aware of them. After all, a politician, especially one seeking office is most likely convinced in his own mind that what he thinks is right for the public--is right for the public.

Well IMO the problem is in the system, as this is the part where the candidates for the Republican nomination need to pander to the folks that vote in the primaries (this system is the same for Democrats) and the folks that vote in primaries are generally hard core right wing on the Conservative side or totally freaky liberal on the Democrat side. So what this does is encourage the candidate to focus their rhetoric towards these extreme views in order to get the nomination, however these views are not mainsteam as most Americans are somewhere in the middle with a social leaning to one side normally on issues that are not negotiable like Gun control, abortion, collective barganing, gay marraige, religion, etc.
Another problem, especially in regards to Rick Perry is he chooses to insulate himself with people of similar views, he believes what has made him a successful repeat governor of Texas is what will resonate in the rest of the country.

Politicians tend to surround themselves or get surrounded with yes men, regardless of what side they're on. Texas is primarily a conservative state, and humorously enough, many Texans tend to be very "nationalistic" about their state and think that everyone else can be like Texas or go pound sand. "Whole 'nuther country..." from a Texas tourism ad says it all. Anyway, that insulation doesn't do him any favors, and maybe this country might have had enough of presidents from Texas for a while.

This sounds like a previous Texas Govenor and X President that now resides in my city. We don't need Bush Jr. in office! We know what that brings.
I love the Partisans response!
Too bad, the Jesus response isn't there any longer. -
Got to see the Jesus one - well played Jesus.
