RE: Problem with rendering (rendering is not starting)
hello guys,
it's me again. I have a small problem with v-ray glass material. I used material with settings described in this blog http://sketchupvrayresources.blogspot.com/2011/07/vray-sketchup-glass-material.html but there is my result. Glass doesn't have the green color.
Best regards,
Marcell

RE: Problem with rendering (rendering is not starting)
Hello guys, my problem with rendering is solved but now I have another problem.
Here's what I got:
imageshack.us/photo/my-images/694/testqfp.jpg/
I have a problem with reflections on copper material and glass panels. The vray plane cast white reflections on those materials and it looks like its overburned. It looks just ugly!
What I would like to achive is basically no reflections of this white plane but still I want those materials to look glossy.
Another problem is that I want to render this views in parrarel projections but I have no idea how to make it.
Any tips woule be appreicated.Best regards,
marcell -

Unfortunately I need to render it in higher resolution. -

I am new with V-ray and sketchup and I will be very thankful for any help.I am working on:
core2duo T6500
4GB of RAM
GeForce 9600M GT with 1gb of RAM
win 7 64bit
vray 1,49,01
Here's a link to sketchup file (54mb)

Follow me tool problem
Hello guys,
last time I wrote my first post here about a problem I couldn't deal with. I am really glad and thankful for your help.
The atmosphere on forum is so friendly.
Unfortunately for you guys I am here once againg with another problem
I am making 3d version of logo that looks simple at the first look but I am new with sketchup and it gives me problem to deal with.First of all here is a reference image of the logo:
In cut it's a square with round edges.I did my first model of this black form with follow me tool thingy and it was very similar for final result. Here's a sample.
I forgot to turn of the Xray module.
It was going really smooth till this drew my attention. Edges are not matched on the connection (excuse me for typo in jpg image my english is bad unfortunately):
Another problem is that I can't set the thickness of that model. I have no clue how to do it. As you can see in reference image the thickness of the black form is changing.I decided to start modeling it from scratch with using another method. This time I drew edges of that the profile (once again the black version of that logo form) and pulled the face out. After that I used scale thingy to match the thickness of the model to the reference 2d logo. Take a look guys :
While using this method I don't know how to model that round angles/corners and then tilt it at given angle.
Guys could you please help me to improce my SketchUp skills.
How can I finish this model properly. Is there a plugin that could help me.All kinds of help will be appreciated. I will be very grateful.
Best regards,
M. -
RE: Modeling problem (help appreciated)
Hi mitcorb,
I haven't try the method with 3D text yet. I will give it a try.
I used vector image file saved in *.EPS then converted it to dwg file to easily track the form of this logo. I did it because I thought it's the easiest and fastest way plus it looks perfectly close to original image.
Now it's difficult to modify already created shapes.
Maybe I shall try from sratch and try another method like extruding shape from edges?~Marcell

Modeling problem (help appreciated)
Hello guys,
I am new both on forum and with SketchUp. Last time I tried to model a violin key attached below:I made an outline of that violin key and saved it to DWG file and simply pulled it up but I came to grisp with problem marked on JPG file.
I guess it's easier way to do that without making an outline and pulling shapes from it but I made it too learn SketchUp.
It's important for me to do that in this way (if it's even possible) because I am making a 3D logo for my friend and it has similar shapes (something like a ribbon) and all I had it's an outline of those letters.I would be really grateful for any kind of help.
Best regards,
MarcellPS. sorry for my poor language, english it's not my native lanbuage.
