Hi all,
I recently upgraded my main home computer From a Q9550/6GB RAM / GT240 GDD5 to a Xeon 1275V2 (basically a 3770)/ 16GB / GT640 GDDR5 machine. But the new computer has worse performance, only in sketchup viewports, than the old one. Everything else is way faster, including viewports in other 3D applications (rhino). With a model that I could rotate around/ display smoothly with the GT240, I'm seeing heavy stuttering (2-5 FPS). I actually see much better performance if I disable hardware acceleration.
- I've updated to the latest nVidia drivers
- I've made sure I have the latest sketchup
- I've tried disabling fast feedback
- I've set AA to 0x, 2x and 4x in sketchup with no noticeable difference in performance
- I've tried forcing low quality rendering in the driver panel
Using the GPU observer gadget, I've confirmed that the GT640 GPU is not being constrained by load, VRAM, or temperature. That leaves driver settings, windows settings, and sketchup settings, of which I can see nothing out of the ordinary.
Help?
