Hi Guys,

Here's a project i'm considering to build onto my garage. Have I gone overboard with the lumber sizes?

<!-- ia1 -->Shed Shelter.jpg<!-- ia1 -->[/attachment:jaj0z3kp]

<!-- ia0 -->Shed Shelter.skp<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:jaj0z3kp]

It's a WIP at the moment so any feedback is appreciated greatly
Thanks in advance

No personal expertise in this area but couple suggestions: Use of lumber size and spacing of post etc should be predicated on spans which you have not included; check with your local inspection department they have requirements on post spacing and dimensional lumber size requirements based on local code. This is not a deck so requirements should not be very stringent ,if any, but good to know.
Just some thoughts

• RE: Help: Resize Multiple Circles

@freddig said:

Hi All,
I use Sketchup to design electrical panels. Along each outer edge of a panel I will have a series of drilled holes. Sometimes I need to change the size of these holes, but Sketchup will only let me change the radius of one circle at a time; I can't select and resize multiple circles (even if they are all the same size). I've tried the scale tool but it does weird things. I'm I missing something or is there a plugin that might do the job?

Many thanks

As always there are many ways of doing things in SU. Here is another idea:

1. Establish center point ( guide point) of each existing hole , then delete hole;
2. Select the center point(s) and make a them component;
3. Draw the circle(s) you want to use as replacements and make components;
4. Select the old center point where you want to change circle size;
5. Using the component browser, select the desired circle you want to use as replacment and then select replace selected
6. Explode the replacement circles and extrude thru your panel
Not :Make sure you have the insertion point correct else the replacements will not align with desired location

Hello

I have a little problem when I flip doors I have drawn in 2d drawings
The curve remain apparent after flipping the object.
Thank you for any advice

Could not duplicate your problem using SU-6 & 7 free. Downloaded your jpg to SU then traced your geometry and then hid the jpg and things looked fine. The only way I could make it look like your case was to not hide the jpg then one can see both. Is there something amiss with how your are using the 2 d drawing your created in I assume different than SU??
Just a thought: Also try turning hardware accel fast feed back off and and see if you get a different result.

BTW there are several pugins for finding the cener point, point at center, set center point and one that does it automatically. Sorry don't have the URLS in hand now. Check window, preferences and make sure you have the utilities enabled one maybe in there

The attached file gives you a general method of drawing what you want
Draw base 30x40
Draw top 6x6
Place top at desired height
Draw rectangle from C/L of top to C/L of bottom, then draw what profile you want, then copy/rotate that profile around to other quad, use weld tool on that copy to weld the curve profile together ( if you do not do this the corner edges will not meet correctly). Use the move tool to move the outside edge of profile to bottom edge. Extrude each of the profiles you now have, do the intersection and edit to get final shape. the attached file is only a portion of the total to show you the idea.box_2.skp

Been playing with your rounded box. This is a doubled ruled surface so modeling with SU is a challenge without more info, at least for me so =>I cheated. Took your pic imported to SU , scaled from your reference dimension ( 30 " narrow side shows ~8+" top so have some aspect error, used a bezier curve fit to the profile and then used the follow me tool around your 30x40 base dimension. SeeroundBox_mac1.skp. This is close but no joy but thought this may give you an idea. Also the results raise a question , is the base dimension 30x40??

• Broken Link To skp files

For some reason I can no longer download links to the attached skp files in the TUTs. All I get is the file.php and it appears the file id etc is not being correctly picked up. Don't know if I unknowingly made some change, don't think so, or if others have the same problem?
If you have an idea would appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks
