I downloaded the SU 7 and when trying to use tape measure as parralel to existing line it doesn't seem to show the construction line. It must be related to one of the settings. Has anyone had this and can point me in the right direction.
      Thanks
      Daniel

Make sure you press the Ctrl key and that you see a + next to the Tape Measure tool. Ctrl toggles making a Construction Line rather than just measuring.

Hi Eric. Thanks for your input. I do have A + next to tape measure cursor. What else can this be?

            Have you already found it?
If not, try 'View'menu => check 'Guides'.

Could be a solution, however if it's a freash install, Guides should be on by default.

Can it ba a video card/driver problem? What if you go to Window > Preferences > OpenGL settings and disable hardware acceleration?

                Hi logscape,

Be careful not to start your guide from an intersection point. Move around it. Start from a line.

                Regards,
                Luis

Thank you everyone.I'm familiar with the use of tape measure tool. I still can't get it to work. I think I'll try to reinstall SU. I'll let you know what happens.
