RE: help with a thread
this thread is a weird one . its on an Italian built mega yacht. its a 150mm diameter aluminum tube with a 20mm high thread on the end. the tube holds a retractable electric cable for shore plug in, when at sea the cable is retracted and the cap I have to make screws on the top to keep the water out
I"ll get some more info on the thread -
RE: help with a thread
if you look at the pictures I posted you can see the height of the thread

RE: help with a thread

help with a thread
hi guys I've been experimenting with the helix tool for making threads with a bit of success, but I'm trying to draw a internal trapezoidal thread ( diagram 150mm, pitch 2.7 mm, depth 1.3mm , 20mm high)
could any one help with a walk through on how to do this -
RE: Annoying pop up
Ok tried my first meter sketch, so just scale down by 0.001 then export and we should be spot on in mm, just making sure I’ve done it right

RE: changing radius on a radius
its for a Bosch mitre saw for dust extraction , about 80mm

RE: changing radius on a radius
I tweaked it a bit more, its not 100% , but I think it could work

RE: changing radius on a radius
thanks for your time guys, instead of a radius I went with a chamfer, pulled the tube through then scaled the end up. This would be fine, all be it a lot neater , but the profile would work

RE: Annoying pop up
