Videotrace
Anyone seen this? http://www.acvt.com.au/research/videotrace/ Google should put this in sketchup! it would give sketchup a real edge! Apparently some 3d software companies are wanting to incorporate it... I wonder, Sketchup 8, with video trace?

RE: What kind of tutorial would you like?
yes please on ship's hull! I'm just about to model a paddle-steamer for my grandad and don't know where to start!

RE: Soft modeling (organic)
hey solo, just wondering how you got such a good texture map on that curtain? did you project it? and in what way did you project it? Thanks

RE: SketchUp for Concept Art
where abouts on the concept art website is the tutorial? I'm interested, could you post the link?

RE: Hello,everyone!I come from CHINA!

RE: Organic Chair Model Question....I need help?
I agree with solo on that. When I first saw some of solo's cartoon sketchups I decided to get subdivide and smooth, but I was disappointed with the results I was getting, but after lots of practice, you know what the pre-subdivision surface should look like to get your results, and modeling complex shapes is easier than I could have ever imagined (still hard). All it took was practice, and more practice, and I still can't call myself a pro! But yes that chair should be possible, I'm sure solo has more experience with this than me so all I can suggest is to experiment more with shapes. Those little folds and details on the chair, hmm, now that could be tricky... never really done much furniture before, but have you seen the tutorial that solo did on making the tablecloth? that could give you some Ideas on how to do some of the material folding..

RE: Rogue's W.I.P's!
hey rogue, I love your renders! I'd like to make some cars and do some like them, but i'm at a loss at how you get the environment under the car (the cars cast shadows on it), what program do you use to do that? vray?
-
RE: [REQUEST] Car Tutorial
hey rogue, you ever going to do that other tutorial? I'm really interested in how to model cars!
-
RE: Best tree generation system
you could try component spray (sketchup plugin). It might make your model run slowly though, depending but if you want to render it then you can use the instancing funtion for indigo or kerkythea exporter.

RE: Rogue's W.I.P's!
just wondering how you do those environments in those renders? how do you get the ground to be under the car with the hdri?

RE: Sketchup and Flash CS4
I restarted my computer and it works now, but it was weird! I've never had something happen like that to me before!
-
RE: Lock toolbars
i've also found that if I move the toolbars and then don't save before i exit it looses the position. And with all the scf toolbars i can't put more than one toolbar on a certain level. It just bumps them to different levels.
oh yeh and I'm sure that everyone wants the back button back on the component and material browser!!

RE: SP3 - Saving While Physic Simulation Doesn't Reset Positions
yeh it's actually quite usefull as a feature, because it lets you use sketchyphysics for modeling, like making roof tiles fall into place, or pavements or that kind of thing

Sketchup and Flash CS4
I can't start sketchup whenever flash CS4 is open and vice versa, no error message or anything. Anyone know what's causing this?

RE: Freeware: Streetscape Pro, might interest urbanists
I didn't say it was useless, but I'll be sure to check it out now that you say it is free!

RE: Water with SU and render engine.
how did you make it solo? what method did you use to create the ripples? I'm sure everyone would be interested to know!
