Have just did a couple of test renders and a Fotoscetcher watercolour. The bus is there to hide some unfinished bits.

    • Work around to open 2018 in SU2017

Hi all, I was working on a model 2018 pro at work, had a long day, tired and saved my SU model but forgot to save it back to 2017 which I use at home. I planned to do some renders over the weekend Can anyone tell me if there is a work around to open 2018 skp model in 2017? I thought of loading it into 3D warehouse but the warehouse limit is 50 Mb and my model is 81Mb.

      Cheers

Hi am working on some details now, lots of planting and infrastructure, some things are just place keepers for now. Model is quite big now and showing the first signs of it slowing my computer, but am trying to make good use of my layers. It is such a big model that I am getting a bit fatigued. Will have to work through the weekend (Without pay) πŸ˜• As I must present it on Monday and want it to present as well it can. As yet the CEO has no idea of my design approach. Does not look as much work as has actually occurred. I am designing as I am modelling

      Cheers

      Quite right too.

My comment comes across as rude, it wasn't meant that way but I was obviously being an arse when I wrote it.
I would edit it but it's better left so people can see that I am an idiot.

      All good box πŸ‘

I'm curious about what we should be commenting on. Is it the design, the modelling, the technical drawings, the Render, the concept?
I'm really not understanding as your images are quite simply, unfinished.
So many box edges around objects...

I work in the area of Landscape Architecture. Had been waiting for some time to see a sequence of work in progress and as yet unfinished sketchup model being applied to a large, detailed,(Acreage) sketchup modelwith this workflow, but one never appeared that I am aware of. With this in mind I posted as it may be helpful to others with the same interests. I also heard about land FX..........

Thought I would do a quick/rough test render to see how it was coming along and to give me a short break from designing modelling.

    • Sequence of a project (UPDATED) ( 2)

Hi all, am working on a large landscape architecture project It is to dovetail a 35yo existing lake and associated landscape and upgrade so it interfaces with a 40 million dollar library and civic facility. Anyway thought I would share the sequence of work with others as it is being designed and visualised with only sketchup. I will go into AutoCAD for the construction aspect. Hope somebody gets something out of it:)

    • Changing dimension template

Hi, I am doing a landscape design and need to do a take off for costings. So I am getting HUGE numbers when I find the area through the text tool. I wish to convert to meters. What is the best way to do that? I am not have sketchup available right now or I would experiment but I would like to find out how to achieve this. before work in about 10 hours from posting.

Cut and paste from MM template to a Metre template? Or just change the template to meters? or something else?

      Thanks

It is a nice stylish render πŸ‘ πŸ‘ πŸ‘ However I must agree with HornOxx that the interior lets it down because it is entirely unconvincing as a livable space. πŸ‘Ž

    • Minimum internal radius cutting bit for ply

Hi, I am designing a lamp. It will be cut from 18mm hoop pine plywood. I am designing the profile but have a question if there are any CNC plywood cutting experts here.
On the attached drawing I have 2 arrows pointing to the internal radius the blue arrow is a zero rad which is not possible with a cutting bit.The red arrow shows it with a 6mm rad, which I do not like, so the smaller the rad the better. cutting bits can have a minimum of 1.5mm Dia but I am sure that would deflect and break. Long story but I cannot ask the guy who will be doing the cutting as he is not contactable for a week
What is the smallest recomended bit size to do the job? I know people are going to suggest using lazer but the discolouration caused by the lazer is not doable due to the discolourisation.
