RE: Modelling without plugins
hmm
interesting.

I can't get that clean curve he's getting. -
RE: Can i lock the toolbar?
oh we wish you could.
nope there is not at this time.. it was suggested that running just less than full screen would stop the bars from messing up... it worked for me for a time.. now I'm back to the bars not going onto the same lines and on start up going where they want.
right now I've just thrown them onto my other screen... they seem to be behaving for now...

RE: Wood Floors direction???
it's recommended you lay towards the window / light source (found that out from watching Holmes on Homes)

[Request] Macro Push/Pull Library
got a rough idea for what could be a very useful ruby.
basically a ruby that can string together a series of push/pull values into 1 operation which the user can setup before hand.
an example: use the Ruby to create a boiler rivet. then you could click a face on another model and run the ruby - it then creates the rivet on that face.
the library part would be saved values you can then take from project to project...

RE: Help our model is possessed
looks like it's video card clipping.
reset the view to one of the basic front/top/side/etc views and you can then carry on again.
I was seeing it a lot on my old ATI when I twisted round a lot.

my on going TARDIS project..
modeled and rendered in trueSpace 4.3.. until I got stuck doing the pipes. but with Jim's Importer and your Fix Remus, I can use SU's lovely abilities to just snap pipe sections together to carry on...
