      Start -> run...
type "cmd" and then press "return"

navigate into your sketchup root directory by typing for example:
      "cd C:\program files\google\sketchup 6" and press "return"

now you're in your sketchup6 root folder. Type:
      "regsvr32 thumbsup.dll" and press "return".

I'm having the same problem in that I don't have previews for any SU models which is a pain as I want to tidy up some folders but can't when all I have is the description.

I'm running Vista 64bit so if I follow pibuz's advice would I have to type "regsvr**64** thumbsup.dll" and press "return".

Kev if you have not fixed it already it can be corrected with a Rick Wilson ruby from smustard

I solved the problem by pasting the warehouse into a new model. Thanks for your advice though πŸ‘

I don't have any clients yet, Daniel. These are to add to my portfolio to help me find some clients. If you know of any clients aimlessly wandering about, please point them in my direction πŸ˜„

The sink in the last one should come out past the cabinets a bit more.

That kitchen was downloaded from FF and the sink was abit further forward but I moved it back cos I thought it looked better. Guess I should've left it where it was πŸ˜„

Have you tried the Run as Administrator trick? That worked for me with PS.

Yep, tried that and nothing gets it to work. Its really very annoying!

    • More kitchens

After getting the kitchen bug from redesigning my dads kitchen, I have done 3 more. They were rendered in Podium with the image opened in Paint.net (I can't get photoshop to install on my Vista machine, grr) and the oil paint filter applied. Then I overlaid the sketchy pencil linework. I'm quite pleased with the results.

      Bob

I got all the units from FormFonts which are all to standard UK sizes. I probably got the appliances from the same place tho I can't remember for sure. It was either there or the 3D Warehouse.

      Thanks for your comments guys.

I've got the kitchen bug now and I'm working on 3 different kitchen models at the same time. Will post some images when I have some.

    • RE: DIRTY HOUSE (MAYBE..)

I agree, the moss is a nice touch. I'm not keen on the wood cladding though. Maybe a different wood texture would improve it.

This is the design I've done to replace my dad's old kitchen. It was rendered in Podium and then was overlaid with sketchy edge linework.

      Hey Josh

At the moment I'm using http://www.Blogger.com which is extremely easy to use although I have set up an account with Fasthosts so I can set up a proper website. I haven't done much to it yet so can't really advise whether its a good one or not. My suugestion is take a look at Blogger and see what you think.

    • 3DS Max - Does anyone use it?

I'm in the process of looking for a new job after being made redundant from my position at an architectural firm. I've decided in a slight change of career and want to get into architectural visualisation. Not wanting to blow my own trumpet too much but I'm pretty good at SU & Podium (I think)but 90% of the advertised jobs out there require experience with 3DS Max. 😞

I know its supposed to have a steep learning curve and its expensive but it appears that if I have a knowledge of it, my chances of getting a decent job increase ten fold.

I've found an online course http://www.theelearningcentre.com which teaches it online over a 6 month period. It looks good but its over Β£2000!! Worth it I'm sure if it gets me a better job.

What is peoples experiences/thoughts on 3DS Max? Should I take the plunge? πŸ˜•

      Cheers πŸ‘
