Wooowow
And you say you need assistance?
The 1st image of this last message is just great!

RE: Pub Doors
Looks nice
It could be more accurate without increasing polycount, but if, as you say, it is enough for the use you will give to it, then it is perfect -
RE: IRONMAN
You make it sound easy, but I still don't understand what happens between having the blueprints placed and then the model almost done in the next step 0_0
I'm amazed and puzzled. Really, how do you do that?
Let's say in the helmet, that looks easier than the beetle.
You start outlining the side view and extrude it?
And then... what? outline the front view and... hmmm there's where I'm lostI forgot to say
GORGEOUS! -
RE: Cello
May I ask how did you model the head?
Or could we see the wire?I tried to make one but with lame results
You gurus always come with a great solution -
RE: Cello
Wow! I love it. You are a master
The most remarcable thing in every render I've seen from you are your textures. You make the objects look so natural!
Just the bridge (don't know the name) looks rare. Is it ivory? -
RE: New Yacht
I've never used Podium, but I'd say you are using a pristine white for your yatch. 100% white doesn't exist in nature and it tends to result in odd renderings when you use it.
Maybe you could soften the light a bit if Podium allows this and improve your mats; for example your windows should reflect the sky, and you could asign diferent materials for diferent surfaces. The model looks great! is it all SU?

RE: Reproduce components along an arch
I've used component stringer for this

RE: Logo designs with SU
Looks nice .
With the same typography both look alike.
Has one company something to do with the other one? -
RE: Lovely solo art render
cublique, as far as I know, kerky doesn't make displacements.
If you need a subtle illusion of textured surface, you can use a normal or a bump map. -

Dear Karina,
I must say that I always appreciate a lot your talent and imagination of your posts on Speed Modelling Challenges

Here is a present for you:
Hey Simon!
Thanks and Thanks
You've just made my day happierMy relation with Blender is similar to yours, don't worry. It took me a day to subdivide the default square.
OK, maybe less, but I it is not an intuitive software to learn (like SU) LOL -
RE: New PC tower design
Well you don't need to print it. You can take the images and prints to someone who works metal...
I'm sure, that way could be affordable. Not cheap, but payable at least LOL
Nice design
Is the feet stable enough? you don't want to accidentally kick it or bend it. -
RE: A Day at the Museum (Natural History Museum - London)
Fletch, what do you use to make those panoramas?
Do you render as panorama or do you use some software to make the conversion?
And once it is done where do you make it interactive? in the pan0.net page?
I've always wanted to prove something like that but I don't know how -
RE: Droping hunderds of trees on surface
With the fur plugin you can populate the surface by component and then replace the component for the one you need.

RE: [LIP] Sculptris_SimonLeBon
I have Blender 2.49b installed, I'd say I have it since that version was released but I have used it just a couple of times to make a couple of tutorials, but then I never found time to continue.
Michalis gave me a useful link to texture models in Blender to import them to SU, but I'm a mess with the mapping and retopoing and all that...
http://www.sketchupartists.org/tutorials/sketchup-and-blender/blender-to-sketchup-a-workaround-for-texturing-organic-shapes/Each time I see something done in blender or some one saying he uses it, I promise myself I'll try again. So, this time I'm making a promise again (why would be different this time????)
I used sculptris and made some doodles, but I can't use it here at work (something to do with my graphic card and shaders... I can open the old version and can't use the decimator) and never find time when I'm home LOL
Ahhhh now I come to think it. My avatar was made in sculptris

RE: A Day at the Museum (Natural History Museum - London)
Impresive Fletch!!!!
Are the skeletons also modeled in SU? Don't tell me they are! I won't believe you
The texturing and detailing is really nice. I haven't been there, but knowing the quality of your work, no doubt it is also accurate
