Mind you it is more expensive than SU.

Having a problem installing myself, as I had tried a trial version of BrisCAD, the AutoCAD alternative.
Bricsys were quick to respond, but don't have a solution yet.
BricsCAD Shape Basic Tutorials
Update: Bricsys support sent through a license unlock code, as I was unable to access the internet through our corporate security system. The problem was I had previously trialled BrisCAD.
Works OK after a quick trial, interface an interesting mix of AutoCAD, Revit & SketchUP.
Saves to DWG file format, so works nicely with AutoCAD & SketchUP. Corner joints need tidying up in SketchUP, as it treats each wall elevation as a group.
Could be a good sketch programme to go with Bricsys' proposed BIM application, which also uses the DWG file format.
I think you are stuck!
As far as I know, SketchUP can only output what your screen is showing.
If you are using a render package, you could apply a material to the whole model which has a edge line option. I know this is possible in Twilight Render or Kerkythea, but you'd have to go to the masters of those packages to figure out how to do this.
Good luck.
djh,
*.rb is the ruby file in plain txt format
*.rbz is the more modern version that is a ruby file compressed in a ZIP file, with the extension changed from .zip to .rbz.
Matthieu NOBLET released a plugin Recall_last_tool.rb that worked with SU7, but I've found it didn't appear to work with SU201* versions.
Did you change the colour of the texture, or colourise it in the SketchUP editor? Best to change the colour of the bitmap in an image editor.
The colour cast in KT could also be the colour of the light.
Both are excellent renderers, but have you considered Twilight Render?
The advantages of it are that you don't need a powerful Nvidia graphics card to get the best out of it, plus you can apply templates to your materials to help improve the realism of your renders.
All the render engines users forums are full of very helpful fellow users.
Finally, it's much cheaper & has a proven track record with use in SketchUP.
Worth a thought.
There could be some corruption within the model - try copying & pasting everything into a new file & keep your fingers crossed!
Nice render, very natural light for Britain.
Hate the mock leaded windows, but if the Client wants it...
Great presentation and colours, thanks for the tips as well.
Perhaps the numbers on the doors should favour the hinge side, to prevent them getting grubby around the handle area. Also, changing the floor colour part way down the ramp slope can cause issues for those with sight problems.
Try exploding the image, it may be part of a block in the DWG file.
There is also a Texttofront command.
Twilight Render Pro has an "almost" real time render window, but the biggest benefit is applying material template presets to SKUP materials. You can also use it with the free Kerkythea renderer to create a render farm.
This works. Thanks for the tip!
I'm in a bit of a pickle - my Outliner pallete is off screen. The usual windows trick of ALT SPACE M doesn't appear to work.
I tried to find a reference to it in the registry without any luck.
Can anyone help?
That's my replacement mouse arrived & plugged in. I forgot just how good it is to use; just hope it survives longer than 9 months work this time.
Thanks for the update. Nothing to report here.
3DConnexion were in touch this afternoon. As the mouse is still in warranty, they will replace it.
Mike,
I agree on how good it is - light action buttons & a proper middle button, rather than just pressing the wheel mouse makes a huge difference. The virtual onscreen pop up control becomes a natural way of working.
But - my old Microsoft Intellimouse lasted longer than the CADmouse for far less money, so I hope 3Dconnexion respond with a solution promptly.
I've had exactly the same issue with my left mouse button. The mouse is about 9 months old.
Again, I tried updating the mouse driver, but with no improvement. It does seem to be a hardware issue.
I've also contacted 3DConnexion support & am waiting for a response.
Matt,
sorry for not replying till now. No, I don't think the naming would be an issue, just that the Xref itself may be a problem.
