Hi y'all,
I've been playing around with an idea for a different design for an ornithopter and I was wondering if it is possible to get it to move using sketchyphysics.

RE: Airport - pharmacy module design
Great work, as usual!
It's great to see more and more familliar faces here.
No, really! It's great that we can finally see the faces. -

No real reason for posting this other than I found the differences interesting.
I think that's a pretty good reason right there.

RE: A Few Odds and Ends
Thanks for the cutlery! They'll come in handy next time I model a kitchen.

RE: Desk / Workstation - Office
Many thanks Howard!
I like the "construction layer" idea. I think I'll adopt it. So thanks for that also. -
RE: Electric Typewriter
I don't know about you guys but I find these old typewriters to be very usefull!

RE: Curves not on plane
I always start by creating a box big enough to draw the profile on. Since I'm drawing on the face of that box, or rather on a particular plane of that box' then the tools I'll be using, including bezier curves, will aline themselves naturaly to that plane. The box itself is then easily erased leaving just the needed profile with no tricky rotating necessary.
Have a look at the attached file.

Japanese type joinery
This is a very simple yet ellegent and efficient joint I've used on occaision.
No gluing is needed. Removing the dowels enables you to pull the pieces apart.

RE: Section Edge Display
Eric, you're so right. It's one of my favourite scripts. It's so useful, logical and necessary that it makes you wonder how it wasn't a built in SU tool to begin with.

How much would this cost? -
RE: Greene & Greene Thorsen House Inspired Side Table
By the way guys, there is now a wood-working sub-forum that you can find at the bottom of the Board index under 'special interest groups'.

Woodworking projects for kids
At my youngest sons school (he's nine years old) the first hour on Fridays is dedicated to "special interests". About 20 parents come to the school and teach all kinds of things that are not part of the school curriculum so as to enrich the learning experienc. One parent teaches Spanish, another parent teaches Origami and so on. The kids are given a list of the different 'courses' at the beginning of the year and each one decides which 'course' he or she would like to take.
Those of you who know me will have guessed that I teach woodworking. Simple little projects the kids can make with basic hand tools. Our first project is a simple bird house made of 4 m"m plywood and 1cm X 1cm X 3cm pine pieces.
Our next project will be a simple stool.
If any of you guys have any ideas for projects that you think the kids could make then please post them here.

Very very nice, thank you for sharing.
A modern yet classical look. Very nice indeed! -
RE: Craftsman Endtable
Yet another lovely model.
Thanks, Jim.By the way, Gaieus and Coen have set up a woodworkers sub-forum in the 'special interest groups' section at the bottom of the Board index. So if woodworking is your thing, that would be a nice place to visit.
