I'm making a book case for a Talmudic scholar and in order to enhance the model I made this component. It looks pretty good on the Mahagony shelves. At first I used the book component in the Architecture component library but it didn't have the right feel so I made this one.
Hope you like it and/or can use it.

OK, I couldn't figure out how to upload and attach the video tutorial I made with Camtasia so I decided to upload it the old fashioned way.
      Hope you find it useful.

    • Simple - low poly Gazebo

Excellent, Bruce. Thank you for sharing.
I'd bought a light weight gazebo made of snap together aluminium piping with a white plastic fabric cover a month ago that we used on a family picnic on the shores of the Sea of Galilee near Capernium.
It's a cheap and flimsy thing but it does provide a 3 meter by 3 meter patch of much needed shade.
So anyway, I thought I'd model the thing just to pass the time till my roast beef is done.
You can find the model here:

    • RE: CatchUp - Rolling Ladder

Beautifull work! I could have used it with the library I modeled a little while ago.
On the other hand, it would have made my library look shaby in comparison. πŸ˜„

Gidon - Thank you very much. I've been looking for just such a bookshelf design for my own home - c 1890 - for some time. It fits with other cupboards I already have. Love the ladder and the little stool.

Where did the inspiration come from?

The inspiration came from a library I saw in Jerusalem at the home of a friend of the family who collects rare books, so that I cannot really take credit for the design.

Ross, the unit will be made of Mahagony, mostly veneer on MDF with solid Mahagony parts where needed.

And may I take this opportunity to thank you, Ross, for all that I have learned from you. Your contribution to my SU education through tutorials and tips is immeasurable.
      I cannot thank you enough.

      Hi y'all,
This is a display unit for a shop I'm working on that's built to look like a library.
Many thanks to Ron for his priceless moldings collection.

What would be the yellow wood (or is all veneered laminate)?
      .

That's not one of you trees?!? Are you sure?
      Hmmmmmmm!

Anyway, the bench is constructed of a steel framework with Maple and Ipea.

    • A round bench-planter

      Hi everyone,
This is a unit I modeled as a proposal for a seating unit (one of twelve) for a shopping mall.

Many thanks to Tom for the numerous trees shrubs he has so generously shared. I'm sure many of us have benefitted greatly from the friuts of his efforts.

    • RE: How to model corners of a cell phone?

I've made a little tutorial that shows how I would use the follow me tool to create this kind of shape. The dimmensions are nowhere near what those of the actual phone are. I am trying to explain the technique.

Now I just have to figure out how to upload the clip 😳
