    • RE: Castle Howard

Stunning model! I hope you leveraged the use of components in this one! Seems like if it was done right, it would be a big file, but no 80Mb...
but who am I to judge?! I've never built a castle like that! πŸ˜†

I'm sure if you showed what you've done to people that care about the castle you would find it of great importance to them. πŸ˜‰ If they're in the mood to think, or listen.

guessing SU2KT could export this to Kerkythea, and you can use layered/procedural textures with it, and instancing brush for vegetation... and it's free.

that's what I noticed, too, Paul, excellent proportions!
my two SU artists at home just turned 8 and they have not done as "proportional" work as this kid does naturally! πŸ‘

of course, now they just want to build something quick so they can jump to rendering in Twilight... but πŸ˜’ what are you gonna do.

RAYMAN at KT's forum posted these nice studio HDRs...

not exactly like the one you show... but, perhaps handy some day.

      Hope you like it.

Learned on this one that too many hires textures can reallykill render times.
Lesson learned: Only use Hi-res where they are critical! (reduced render times by MORE than 10x 😲 )

Oli asked that I share the stone wall texture (hi-res) so I did that here. Please ENJOY! πŸ˜‰

    • RE: [Plugin] Repeat Copy UPDATED 2-24-2010

looks promising, Chris - great job/development.

I agree w/ Pilou - holding down mouse button should continue placing components 1 every half second or something reasonable like that... would have to try it out to see what is a 'reasonable' speed - something fast enough, but not so fast you can't control it.

thanks, totally agree, I would add dirt in post-pro... but wanted to have a 'pure' render to show off the 3D trees/vegetation.

As for placement of pool/design in general - non of my business... their house. their land. what can I say?

giving Tom's trees a try... I like how they are part 2D/ part 3D so they look good as you rotate the model, yet render/look full.

most other plants in scene by Solo.

      no post pro.
noticing a lot of .jpg artifacts, so posted a less uncompressed detail area.

Add a watermark vignette right into your SU model!!!
In Photoshop Erase a painterly "whole" on a white page and save it right in the .PSD format (SU) understands it. Add your signature to it and the stick it up as a watermark.

this is interesting... but by "whole" do you mean "hole"? ... sorry, but I was a bit confused by the tip... I know it's a gem, hope you can explain. pictures are worth a thousand words. πŸ˜‰
