That is strange. I use 64bit Win7/8 and have not had such issues...
Perhaps you got some files stuck in VirtualStore? (You can use this plugin to check: http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=48399)
Perhaps updating drivers help?
